DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Only thing they can really even attempt to answer back with is to drop that teaser trailer that is rumored to be centered around Batman...and have the last image be of Bats/Supes/WW much like we had Thor/Cap/Iron Man in Avengers fighting scene...

To be fair to DC it's unfair to compare the two companies right now.

DC is obviously still in phase 1 where their solo movies are basically introducing their characters

Marvel is in that phase right now where even their 'solo' movies are going to touch on comic crossover events, ie. Civil War.

They're both on two different time lines with two different goals.

It's less about DC needing to compete and just trying to get their foot off the ground like Marvel did back in 2008

That is not how business/competition works. Are they gonna tell their stockholders "We are not competing against Marvel now. We are competing against 2009 Marvel" :rollin

I'm talking more about fan expectations. Can't expect both movies to be on the same playing field.

Obviously, you want to be able to compete with your rival company no matter where in the timeline your entry point is.

But you should also compete with your rivals in terms of fan satisfaction. There is no way around this. Fan expectations is STILL competition.

At this point I'm tired of the DC bashing. I'm not even laughing at them like I use to. Word to Fab There is no competition at least not now.

They're not even a factor anymore. After yesterday if you're still making fun of DC it's no better than picking on the dumbest weakest kid in school trying to do his best.

I should clarify.

I never said DC shouldn't want to satisfy their fans the way Marvel is satisfying theirs.

I'm saying reaching that goal unrealistic at this point at this time.

It's like a sports fan expecting their favorite team to win the championship this season when the pieces are not yet set in place.

It's being rumored that the WW film will take place in the 20's

"We know there’s a Wonder Woman movie coming in 2017. We know it will star Gal Gadot in the lead, and she also appears in Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

But as of this date, we presumed it would be set in the modern day. Well, why wouldn’t we?

It’s not. I have been informed by those who have seen the greenlit treatment that the film will spends the first half on Paradise Island with warring Amazon factions vying for control.

An arrival of a man on the island changes that status quo, as he asks the Amazons for help. Not necessarily Steve Trevor either…

Because when Wonder Woman joins him on his return to the world of Man, we all discover that it is the 1920s. And the film will then show Diana exploring that world – a world where women have only just got the vote – from her… unique perspective.

A planned sequel would then take place during World War II in the thirties and forties. This of course was the period that the seventies TV show began in, before shifting to the then-modern day."

Wow. This is an awesome idea for a WW story. I would watch! No sarcasm, either

The sequel should take place in modern day, imo

Casting For Supergirl Begins – What They Are Looking For

supergirl-230x350.jpg

This will come as no big surprise, but the casting for the new Supergirl series for CBS is being done by the same company that cast Arrow and The Flash. Being that Greg Berlanti is involved, the choice seemed obvious. So what are they looking for? According to TVLine they are currently casting two parts – Kara Zor-El (Kara Danvers) and her older foster sister Alexandra “Alex” Danvers.

For Kara Zor-El aka Kara Danvers, the show is eyeing Caucasian females, age 22 to 26, to play 24. As the series’ mythology goes, Kara at age 12 was sent from her dying home planet of Krypton to Earth, where she was taken in by the Danvers, a foster family who taught her to be careful with her extraordinary powers. After repressing said skills for more than a decade, Kara is forced to bust out her super moves in public during an unexpected disaster. Energized by her heroism for the first time in her life, she begins embracing her abilities in the name of helping the people of her city, earning herself a super moniker along the way.

The other lead role currently being cast is that of 26-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Kara’s gorgeous, brilliant, science-minded foster sister. Growing up, Alex was partly jealous of her sibling yet also fascinated by her abilities, prompting Alex to learn as much as she could about alien anthropology, sociology and culture. Today, Alex works for a secret government organization and, alongside her heroic sis, will face many challenges, both mundane and super.

Berlanti wrote the pilot script with Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family) and the two will executive produce the series along with Sarah Schechter.

DC think they're slick giving Supergirl the Earth last name of "Danvers" :lol :{

Since this is on CBS I'm most enthused about this DC show. Not so much about the CW guy doing casting but hopefully the look and tone of it is nothing like the CW.

I agree. That would be a cool story imo. I dont care for the WWII sequel. Just skip to present day after that.

I don't think we'll ever see Batman on tv ever, any version. Go peep Adam West for that.

ohh it's a tv series I didn't see that. Are we going to get a batman beyond film?
It's actually a series online for Static.

I don't know what DC is doing. Beyond doesn't seem like it's in the "plan" for DC/WBat the moment. Shame there's not even a comic for it. Just digital.

You can hope for more animated movies though.

I am much more of a Marvel head than a DC head, but I would cry tears of joy for a Batman Beyond film.

Why DC doesn't think outside the box and pull stuff like that is beyond me.

The fact that Teen Titans isnt in the works is ridiculous. Teen Titans is probably their second most successful tv franchise after DCAU.

Teen Titans and Suicide Squad would be their two movies that could stop the "they are copying marvel" argument. They are rushing one (don't see how they can do the villains team up movie before establishing a bunch of villains) and neglecting the other.

I think DC scared how to handle it right. Know there's a huge chance they might drop the ball.

Plus that's another frontier that hasn't been taken seriously, approaching a teenage superhero movie with a plan and all that. Also DC may not want to do an all young kids live action superhero movie until somebody else *cough*Marvel*cough* does it first.

If Marvel could, they would've already. But they don't have any all teen squads.

I think Feige said they have a script for The Runaways but that's it.
