DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

I swear, Teen Titans would be instant win if handled right.
could be MASSIVE.

been saying that in here for months man it's the one move they could pull to completely differentiate themselves but it doesn't really seem to be a concern for them.

I swear, Teen Titans would be instant win if handled right.

That could be said about anything. :lol

But at this point I'd settle if they just bring Young Justice back or at least finish it off properly with a great send off. :{

I dont like either of them. Tho I gave young Avengers a chance because I liked most of their characters as individuals. I'm sure Marvel could figure out what to do with them in the movies. Especially since they could figure out what to do with Ant-Man :lol

Also what race is the green girl on the right of the New Warriors pic?

I take that back. Marvel could make a dope movie about em but they are almost all children of people who haven't been established yet or are too old to be the children of soon to be established characters. Almost all the good characters at least.

Having a second Vision would be confusing as well. Young Avengers would be hard to set up.

I am much more of a Marvel head than a DC head, but I would cry tears of joy for a Batman Beyond film.

Why DC doesn't think outside the box and pull stuff like that is beyond me.

This absolutely makes no sense. They are taking a huge chance with Aquaman! AQUAMAN! The biggest joke in comic book history until he was recently unseated by Hawkeye.

Then a Cyborg film who most here already feels is going to blow chunks. A black teenage here with cybernetics who some here are calling a "worse than Robocop" ripoff film?

Then Static Shock, another black teen superhero with some weird powers.

Suicide Squad, looks like they'll beat Sony to doing a villain-centric film.

And then they are doing their stories in reverse of Marvel, group film first before origins/solo. Not saying that is the most innovative but at least it isn't just copying and just doing what has been done.

People always criticize and complain just because the studio doesn't do what they want them to do. :{

People also always say "why can't DC get this and this right?" and then now they aren't thinking outside the box enough?

Well its like electricity but not really? He is like Magneto but can recharge by draining energy? Then there's that riding manhole covers and all. :lol Despite his "electric" power I don't remember him actually electrocuting someone so I assume he couldn't? I don't really remember his whole pwoerset from the show that much.

I guess "weird" is not the word? More like "unusual"? It's not exactly like Magneto, could he control computers with his mind like that kid in Heroes tv show?

Ehh not thinking outside the box enough.

An Asian American batman :eek

Wait, Mcginnis is half Asian?

Really not much "out of the box" with Batman Beyond, he is practically Iron Man x Batman. Futuristic thing has been done in several films too.

Man don't bring up Micah and heroes man. Techopathy is a power I would love tho

Wiki has this on Static's Powerset
Static's powers allow him to control various electromagnetic phenomena, in particular allowing him to manifest both electrical and magnetic energy - Static's powers are best described as super-conductor electromagnetism (the means by which floating maglev trains are suspended above the rails).

Static's powers center around electromagnetism, making him part of the Earth's electromagnetic field as well as capable of generating and storing his own electromagnetic energy. He can choose to keep the electromagnetic energy that he currently holds in his body by controlling the current and voltage for whenever he wants to use it. Static's body can generate raw electromagnetic energy, which he can control at will for various purposes.

Such uses commonly include magnetizing objects, electrocuting opponents, levitating objects (such as manhole-covers or his self-built metal saucer for use in flight) and people, restraining or adhering people/objects to various surfaces in the form of "static cling", generating "taser punches" with effects similar to a stun gun and at times enough power to send opponents flying during close combat, various electromagnetic displays as well as electromagnetic nets or cages, blinding flashes, generating thrown ball lightning, producing electromagnetic pulses, and generating electromagnetic force fields to shield himself from attacks, even stopping bullets in mid-air.

As well as releasing surges of electromagnetic energy, Static can also drain sources of electricity, such as power lines, batteries and fuse boxes to recharge/replenish his own energy supply. Whenever Static has used his powers to a high degree, or experience any other such large energy-drain, he will also experience a sudden, acute sense of fatigue, as his electromagnetic powers are tied-in to his own bioelectric energy levels. In the episode "Aftershock," in the 1st season of the animated series, an analysis of his blood shows that Static's electrolytes/blood-salt levels are higher-than-normal, highlighting that Static needs higher blood-salt levels to support the use of his powers but the higher sodium levels seem to have no effect on his health.

Static can also sense and feel-out sources of electromagnetic energy, able to tell if a seemingly abandoned area is actually hot or not. Static can use his powers to hear radio waves and tap into phone lines, including listening in on the police broadband and music stations, as well as making calls. He also called himself a "human CD player." It's notable that Static has more of a distinctive advantage in cities than anywhere-else, as shown in the events of "Aftershock," as even in a park, surrounded by trees, Static could make use of the metal pipelines under the ground with his magnetic powers.

In the animated series, Static's powers grant him resistance or immunity to forms of mind control, since the human brain is an electromagnetic organ. In "Attack of the Living Brain Puppets," Static is immune to Madelyn Spaulding's ability to hear the thoughts of others and exert control over their actions, (as speculated by Richie,) Static's greater bioelectric field shields him and his brainwaves from any attempts at reading his mind and asserting control over him, as also seen in the second part of "A League of Their Own," when one of Brainiac's mind-controlling devices shorts out shortly after being placed on Static. This trait has also been adapted into the comic book mythos; in Terror Titans, Static is shown to have resistance to Darkseid's Anti-Life Equation, coming back to his senses.

Following the events of "Flashpoint", Static is given a new flying disk that now contains a holographic interface and is capable of collapsing into separate pieces or re-configuring into various forms for various uses and applications. In addition to allowing Static to remain in contact with Hardware, the disk also displays charts and other information relevant to the mission at hand. Virgil has also begun using a collapsible bo-staff in conjunction with his powers for use in close-ranged fighting.[30]

Tim Drake has stated that Virgil's understanding of molecular structure rivals the Flash's.[29]

Virgil Hawkins is a highly gifted student with a particular interest in the sciences. He is a talented inventor and a natural strategist. Virgil also possesses an almost fanboyish knowledge of comic books, role playing games, pop culture, and science fiction
.

Him and Cole McGrath from InFamous would be best of buds

? ? ?

Terry was born in Gotham City on March 27, 2022, to Warren and Mary McGinnis, a research scientist at Wayne-Powers and an astronomer at Astro-Tech respectively.

Is this another Lex Luthor is black conspiracy?

:rollin

:rollin @ Terry being Asian now.

Son was always white. Last name McGinnis and later there's a movie about him really being Bruce Wayne's son anyway.

Asian can't ever flourish in Hollywood
tired.gif

Last names don't really mean anything

Yea Sac, let us flourish

There was a comic about him being Bruce Wayne's son? I'm disgusted

Not a comic, an animated movie. It was pretty good but the reveal itself when you hear it like that does sound like bull ****.

Basically in this continuity as time went on and Batman got older and eventually quit, Amanda Waller felt the world still needed a Batman. So she got Bruce's DNA (at this point she knows his secret ID), stores it, and then plants it in Terry's mom after she gets married (making dude think he's his biological son, mind you it's ****** up they aint even make it so it could've just been a twin or something just straight up robbed dude of one son). What's the bull **** part is then as Terry's story goes he stumbles upon Bruce and the new bat suit like it was coincidence. It's basically saying it was in Terry's genes to be Batman since he's the son of Bruce :lol :{ It is a really ham fisted story

Still though, I don't know where it was even hinted he was Asian. These were his parents on the cartoon

Last I checked there wasn't an ep where we found out Terry was adopted.
