DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Now tell me this isn't exactly what I was just talking about with DC

Nothing is set in stone. Directors dropping like flies.

Nah. This wasn't a loss. Plus WW2 kept Patty, Wan finished Aquaman, Sandberg is filming Shazam, Batman has Reeves, SS2, Flashpoint, and Nightwing all have directors. Apparently Doug Liman said he's open to direct another DC movie now too. It's different than before. (For now. Hopefully. :lol)

I look forward to one movie (Batman) and am intrigued by how another turns out (Aquaman). Don't really care for or can't call it with the rest.

GL Tyrese?

Weinstein treatment?

His ex-wife put out a statement. He (allegedly) might not be a feminist, but a perv and was dirty mackin' for 15 years.

It supposedly goes back to when he was a producer on Buffy. He may have messed with some of the female cast members and fans of his. While married.

cheating is different from sexual assault tho

Very true.

I think the studio just didn't want that stress even if it's not as extreme as Weinstein. He already recieved backlash for how he handled Black Widow in AOU and the Wonder Woman gag in JL. Dirty mackin' while directing a female led superhero flick in today's climate? Especially with DC, who've had a lot of terrible press. Wouldn't surprise me if he was asked to leave and they let him say he exit to save face.

Being a perv isn’t illegal, adultery isn’t in most states. He had hot females in buffy, firefly, and dollhouse. Wonder which ones he got to smash.

That's not the Weinstein treatment.

That's just cheating that has nothing to do with #MeToo or all these women talking about their sexual assaults.

I don't think the studio had anything to do with Joss dipping. I think he simply didn't want to **** with them again after his JL experience. Similar to Affleck after BvS.

I don't see any stress to go through either. Joss ex made all that cheating public last year and he ain't have no problems. Highly doubt a bunch of journalists are about to come through with reports about who Joss Whedon cheatee in his wife with.

Hell I'm pretty sure if we started looking in to the current cast of actors and directors currently employed in the DCEU you could target a bunch of them for cheating too.

That's cool and all. Movie doesn't come out for like another 9 months though, so a lot can change between then and now.

Got all my faith in Wan tho.

No, Really – What’s Going on With the DCEU?

See I know I wasn't crazy :lol

Then theres this take on the state of things:

Mark Millar Explains Why Marvel’s Movies Are Better Than DC’s

“And I say [that] as a massive DC fan who much prefers their characters to Marvel’s. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are some of my favorites but I think these characters, with the exception of Batman, they aren’t based around their secret identity. They are based around their super power,” “Whereas the Marvel characters tend to be based around the personality of Matt Murdock or Peter Parker or the individual X-Men, it’s all about the character,” “People will slam me for this but I think the evidence is there. We’ve seen great directors, great writers and great actors, tonnes of money thrown at them, but these films aren’t working. I think they are all too far away from when they were created. Something feels a little old about them, kids look at these characters and they don’t feel that cool. Even Superman, I love Superman, but he belongs to an America that doesn’t exist anymore. He represents 20th Century America and I think he peaked then.”

He has a point.
