PENNYWORTH: Production For The Pilot Is Set For The End Of The Year Says Latest Report

The latest report from Omega Underground points to the production of the series’ pilot commencing during upcoming fall/winter season, and is certainly expected to do so before the year closes out.

When the series was announced it was reported that the program would be set in London during the 1960's with Pennyworth teaming up with a young Thomas Wayne.

We knew it was coming and now some details on DC Universe have finally been officially revealed. As well as all the original new shows which are coming to the streaming service, there's going to be a plethora of classic DC TV shows and movies, including Batman: The Animated Series, Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman (in HD for the first time) and animated offerings like The Flashpoint Paradox.

There will also be all the classic Batman and Supermanlive-action movies. As for the comic books, there will be a library featuring every single comic book ever published by DC and fans will be able to scroll through those not just on their phones and tablet but on television as well. That means you can read everything from Action Comics #1 to Geoff Johns' Justice League run on your 64" 4K television!

DC Universe members will also be given exclusive access to various action figures and collector's items from DC Collectibles, including six-inch action figures based on Justice League: The Animated Series. There will also be a new fan forum for those who share a love of all things DC and an extensive encyclopaedia if you fancy delving deep into this world or just want to check out some facts.

Confirmed to debut on the platform later this year, the new synopsis for Titans reveals that it will follow, "young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. **** Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes."

Harley Quinn

We don't have any imagery from the Harley Quinn animated series but it is officially set to debut on DC Universe next year. When it was initially revealed, we heard that it would focus on the character's attempts to take over Gotham City but it now appears as if Harley is setting her sights a little higher.

"Harley Quinn follows Harley’s adventures after she breaks up with the Joker and strikes out on her own in this new adult animated comedy. With the help of Poison Ivy and a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, Harley tries to earn a seat at the biggest table in villainy: the Legion of the Doom."

Fans of Young Justice have been hoping and praying that the series would return and, as we've known for a while now, it will call this platform home. While fan-favourites like Nightwing and Superboy are nowhere to be seen, the roster has been revealed as including Blue Beetle, Kid-Flash, Thirteen, Artemis, Spoiler, Robin, Wonder Girl, and Static Shop. You can see all of them in the new image below.

yah everyone's waiting for the price

beta is suppose to start in august, i am not sure how to sign up for it

anything $10 or less sounds like a very good deal but maybe they could have tiers too, like $5 if you just want access to the films, series, shows, etc...

So since they're going with this Cyborgless Titans do they have a new black teen hero to take his spot?

:nerd:

He's going to make an appearance... Can't remember the episode though
Ok but still sounds like he isn't a founding member and/or its clear he won't be a part of the main cast.

I just want to knownif this branch of DC is gonna step and dust off some barely used black teen hero and put them on the team or any black hero and just make them a teen or if it's gonna be some other minority hero or just a white hero or leave the spot unfilled.

Damon Lindelof’s HBO Watchmen series has been shooting for a while at this stage, but the casting announcement keep on coming.

The latest additions are British actress Sara Vickers (Endeavor, The Crown) and none other than Black Manta himself, Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Also added are Frances Fisher (Titanic), Tom Mison (Sleepy Hollow) and Jacob Ming-Trent who recently had a role in Sony’s SuperFly remake.

An early, spoiler-laden review for Titans has popped up online this weekend and, well, there's lots here to talk about before it premieres.

It's R-Rated And Dark In Tone
Robin_in_live_action_Titans.jpg

While the Teen Titans have typically been portrayed in quite a light and comedic fashion, Titans isanything but. Apparently, there are multiple F-Bombs and S-Bombs, while the action is described as being seriously brutal with snapping bones, blood, and, well, some people even get mangled!

It's not quite as adult in tone as Jessica Jones but it is considerably darker than anything else DC Entertainment has produced for television. However, before you go expecting a very grounded take on these characters, it's said that Titans doesn't shy away from embracing the comic book roots of these characters and "it doesn't ever really aim to be realistic." Sounds good so far, right? Keep reading...

Introducing The Heroes
Teen_Titans_Hunt_4_comic_book.jpg

It's said that the pilot puts the spotlight on three heroes: Robin, Raven, and Starfire. However, things kick off with a flashback as we pay a visit to The Flying Graysons and the night **** Grayson's parents were killed. We also get a taste of Raven's "unstable psyche and untapped power." It sounds like she has a deeply disturbed and demonic individual residing inside her and everyone is aware of how strange she is. We see that she's bullied in school and it sounds like that will play a big role in her arc.

It's also said that her introduction leads to the appearance of a mysterious hitman known as The Acolyte. Not much is revealed about what he's up to but he "prompts some change within Rachel’s life that launch the entire show into motion." Needless to say, fans are sure to have some theories!

Robin Hates Batman
Dick_Grayson_as_Robin_Batman.jpg

When we meet **** Grayson, he's left Gotham City and is now based in San Francisco. He hated the Caped Crusader for reasons which aren't elaborated on but it sounds like he's afraid of becoming like Bruce Wayne. Surprisingly, this version of the character is working as a police detective but he doesn't play well with others and has shut himself off with the world after working with the Dark Knight.

Why he hasn't ditched the Robin persona to become Nightwing isn't clear but that could be something which happens over the course of the season, especially as we know Jason Todd will be showing up.

What's The Deal With Starfire?
Teen_Titans_all_grown_up.jpg

There's been a lot of controversy surrounding set photos showing Starfire's rather unique look but it turns out that there's an explanation for that. The reason she looks like she's stepped out of the 1970s is because she attended a disco party shortly before getting in a car crash while being chased down by some armed goons. Her mission also looks set to intertwine with the other Teen Titans members.

It's said that she can speak multiple languages and has a number of passports. Her powers, meanwhile, are portrayed very similarly to her comic book counterpart which is bound to please many fans.

How Things Wrap Up
10_Teen_Titans_Judas_Contract_Nightwing_Starfire_Cyborg_Beast_Boy_Raven_Wonder_Girl_Jericho_Terra.jpg

Apparently, the end of the pilot features some huge surprises and what the site describes as, "The absolute greatest, the most jaw-dropping moment of the pilot happens here, and it’s so good." That's presumably referring to some sort of big reveal about who the show's lead villain will be but it seems we'll have to wait and see. The reviewer's overall impression seems to be very good so it doesn't sound like the show is going to disappoint when it hits the DC Universe streaming service later this year.
