DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Didnt AoS, Flash, Agent Carter and all them debut with a much higher viewership than they have now? 13M for supergirl seems impossible to sustain.

It will likely not sustain that but it definitely started on good footing with those numbers.

They likely won't be able to sustain it just because they were following the highest rated show these days and I don't think they'll have that luxury in the coming weeks but I think 8mil-10mil is good for them especially competing with MNF?

I know that's probably what they want/expecting.

CBS put it all on the line by ordering the full season before the season even started. It's usually more common to order 12 episodes and order more if the ratings are good. So they obviously really expect a lot from this.

Always remember just because something isn't for you doesn't mean it isn't for other people. There is a large undeserved market starved for this type of show, it was going to be hit if executed half way decently.

The Berlanti machine is too strong miss on a concept this easy.

You gotta trust the infrastructure.

Well they're winning then. If they put out subpar stuff and they still get a lot of viewership then good for them. Turning crap into gold. nbc can't find hits to save their lives and abc probably isn't doing any better except for thursday nights. I don't know how fox is doing but bones is in its 10-11 so it must have people watching. Only major network show I follow is Sleepy Hollow.

^ NBC can't get hits, but their other USA network is getting hits with almost every show.

They have suits and mr robot. They're popular but numbers for a major network and a cable channel are different. Which is why I think mr robot was put on usa and not on nbc. Network shows get cancelled with the quickness. Hannibal was one of the best shows on tv but not many watched which is why it's gone now.

I just don't agree it's clearly competently made just like all the other Berlanti shows like Arrow and FLash.

I don't like Arrow, it's going for a tone that I don't like but it's well made same for Supergirl, not really going to watch it but from the first episode it's clearly well made and smartly executed.

Not everything is for you.

Lol, anything is better than Arrow. I'll watch the Supergirl pilot a thousand times before I watch one more episode of Arrow.

It got three seasons so it wasn't all bad. It could have gotten axed after one.

FOX and ABC are doing just fine. Modern Family, Blackish, The Goldberg's (somehow), That other show with the Janitor and the mom from Everybody Loves Raymond (I have no clue how that show is still going but ppl watch it), one other comedy with Tim Allen get high ratings, Nashville brings in the country audience, Quantico has Bollywood's most famous actress as the main character. Then FOX has done well with shows they've brought back like 24 and they about to do it again with The X-Files, Scream Queens looks like it may last multiple seasons, ppl like to watch Gotham for some reason, I dunno why Bones has like 13 seasons. So those 2 are doing well while not dominating overall.

NBC's struggle is real though :lol :{ They got the Blacklist, SVU, these new Chicago based shows, and there's a cult following for Grimm. Other than that their new dramas and comedies tend to fail. They were unable to compete on Sundays before SNF and they're not winning on Monday through Thursday. Plus their in house problems have been more talked about than the other networks.

FACTS

Arrow is terrible don't know how I lasted two seasons. Still thought it was better than AoS.

I'd have to say Hanibal suffered from poor marketing. Show seems way more popular now than it was when it was actually running.

Quantico is that show :hat

It quickly made it to near the top of my list of shows to watch

*checks to see if there's a thread for that show

but do women really want to see a female super hero show?

we shall find out as the season goes

gonna need tom welling to reprise his role as superman

So there actually is another reason to watch the show besides how attractive the lead actress is? I'll check out the pilot eventually.

I was referring to the hour long dramas. Only comedy shows I check for consistently are Last Man on Earth last season and Broad City and Workaholics on comedy Central. I've caught New Girl on reruns and it's a good show.

They don't need one, but the lack of representation overall plus the feminist agenda made it a priority. Strike while there is faux outrage to monetize.

The pilot is actually just ok. But I promise you, after that it gets a lot better, quickly.
