DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Great acting is good if the script needs it

The MoS and BvS scripts don't demand much of Lois Lane

Tons of girls can literally do what Amy does in MoS and BvS, and they'll be prettier at it too, and they'll be the right age (for Henry)

but to be fair mcadams did win "best kiss" for her work in the notebook at the MTV movie awards

and made me cry during the Notebook. Amy can't claim that.

What parts made you cry? The saddest parts were when they were already the old people and the old actors were onscreen.

:smokin

I could have swore you were one of many who hated on GOTG (in particular that dance scene)?

May have been Tay1? :lol

You got the wrong dude ma G. I loved Guardians and that scene. It worked for that film.

Seen the movie again. Would've been A+ if they left out doomsday, WW , death of superman and less JL tie ins.

If they just focus on building up characters between bats, supes and lex. Smh what could've been

The editing problem was due to a lot of **** going on.

That's irrelevant. All of these studios and I mean ALL make use of the most talented actors in the business just cuz they're big names or well respected knowing full well the scripts will NEVER make use of their full acting abilities

Bale
Cheadle
Downey Jr.
Adams
Hardy
Eisenberg
McAvoy
Fassbender
JLaw
McKellen
Stewart
Eijiofor
Boseman
Cumberbatch
Swinton
Douglas

This is just something these studios feel they have to do. So telling them eh you don't need a big name actress to play Lois Lane will get you casting like Bosworth. They know Lois Lane is a big name in the comics so they looked for one of the most talented actors to play her. This is a situation where the casting director may not have even read the script or read it once and then tells the agents some lies to sell them on signing on to the project. After that they're stuck with it.

I know ppl are annoyed with JLaw but she is a very good actor and she stinks it up as Mystique. Fass and McAvoy do the best they can with what they have same for McKellen and Stewart. Eisenberg was wasted cuz the character really wasn't written to his strengths it was just bad casting. Cheadle is WASTED, go see Miles Ahead when it drops.I don't think it needs to be dwelt on when it comes to Hardy and Bale. It goes on and on. RDJR is probably one of the most impressive and even then that's not touching his best performances.

Of course I hear a lot of this but then how would the movie end? Who would they fight? Would be no reason for WW to show up for only really cool scenes.

Lex in his kryptonite armor? 8o

I gotta say Tom Hiddleston is probably the best-used actor in any CBM. He's really the only reason I watch the Thor/Avengers movies at all.

Lex in his kryptonite armor? 8o

Movie should have been lex bribing the government people so he could get Zod's body and the craft..

He gets all the info on supes from accessing the ship.. Finds out about the weakness to kryptonite just like he did in the movie.. Targets Martha and Lois

Bats is sceptical about lex and also investigating supes.. Ditto Diana

Lex doesn't even mention the shipment of krytonite and just brings it in

Diana and batman have to help supes vs lex and his bots because it's lex that is using the krytonite vs supes

Doomsday and darkseid are legit JL movies.. Maybe have brainiac send doomsday after superman defeats him in a solo film

In a recent interview with Forbes, producer Deborah Snyder spoke about the introduction of a more lighthearted tone and levity with certain characters like the Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). Snyder also hinted at the relationship between the two heroes and how that might lead them to pop up in each other's standalone films.

"As you can imagine, when we get to the Flash movie, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher — who plays Cyborg — are kind of our youngest characters, and they have a really nice comradery with each other. Ezra is super funny, so the tone of that film will be very different than the rest of them."

Contrary to popular belief no movie director ever is casting people based on your desire to have sex with them.

Fixed

And we have a winner

cyborg is supposed to be a lighthearted character? His scene in the movie was brutal. Looked worse than when robocop became part machine.

Yea cybprg's story ain't really a pretty one.. Plus in the stuff I've seen he has stuff going on with his dad..

And coming to grips with his new situation

That looks way better but the darker gray tone is Snyder's signature style.

I can't wait to see him do a movie that's not action and see if he sticks with that :lol

You think that's going to happen?
What? Snyder movie that doesn't involve action? :lol

I think at some point he has to unless he's really Baying it and just sticks to blockbusters.

They keep mentioning Cyborg like it's going to be made :lol

Who's looking forward to hearing Cyborg say "BOOYAH!"? 8o

Well then the movie is no longer Batman vs. Superman :lol Just Dawn of Justice.

Yeah super brutal origin but it's one of those bottle up the pain on the inside situations.

I know in TT he was nothing but laughs, same for the cartoon. He's not grim and dour like Batman in the JL comic.

cyborgs the key to all of this, if we get cyborg working cause he's a funnier character than we've ever had in the movies

did you guys post one of the "communion" deleted scene already? idk if they were posted so dont kill me if they were goons

Master zik,

on Snyder, would it really surprise you?

And dawn of justice or 'superman', would have been a better movie, right?

Even in the most recent animated movie it seems like cyborg would rather be with the teen titans.

I was so used to the original JL lineup in the original cartoon. I wonder if we'll ever see Hawkgirl in one of the movies.

The movie is barely Batman v Superman, anyways. Dude's got in one fight over some "Three's Company" misunderstanding. :{

I never really was interested in Cyborg until the comparison to Robocop. I'd be on board with that. I'm not familiar with the character, so not sure if he's lighter in the animated shows/films.

And I don't even care too much about the Lois character. It being 2016, you would think the whole damsel in distress female role would be frowned upon, but Snyder embraces it.

I want someone to spoof Zach Synder's directing style. Like take a romantic comedy scene but instead of the usual stuff use stylistic slow motion, random visual shots, the dark filter that he likes, etc.

I'D find it hilarious

a super meta take on zach synder writing the screen play for this movie directed in the style of zach snyder

The villain should have been Lex in his armor. His armor doesn't necessarily use Kryptonite, though I don't see why it wouldn't in the movie.

The movie shouldn't have ever been Batman V Superman. It should have been Batman/Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Zack basically said the idea for Bats V Supes was "well, we were thinking about the next person for Superman to fight, and we said 'why not Batman'? And when you bring that up, you really can't just ignore it".

Sure, you can ignore it. Part of the writing process is excision. Excise what you think are great ideas after some critical thinking about the implications on the narrative and the characters.

The philosophical conflict that failed due to the poor writing should have been relegated to a few quips here and there between Bats and Supes--this could have been the humor the movie so desperately needed.

Bats should never have been psychotically obsessed with destroying Superman. If anything, he's doesn't trust the guy, but the Metropolis battle and Batman's  discovery of metahumans should have been what pulled him out of retirement and caused him to return to crimefighting.

Lex should have had his hand in some shady dealings in both Gotham and Metropolis, maybe involving a minor Bat villain and a minor Supes villain. Maybe have Batman rampaging (non-lethally) through Metropolis' underworld or have Superman fighting in Gotham. This prompts Batman and Superman to encounter each other in whichever city, throw some banter back and forth, and establish the relationship. A little distrust at first because they are day and night, but give them the motivation of some shady and villainous **** that's affecting both of their lives that they have to mutually overcome.

Along the way, have them develop a mutual respect and the budding famous Bats/Supes bromance.

Have Batman "discover" Wonder Woman because she's been tracking Lex, just like how it went down. Except give WW a better reason for tracking Lex (maybe he was dicking around a little too close to Themyscira and she wants to keep tabs on him). Don't have Bats send a stupid email with all of Lex's files. But do definitely have him figure out who she is, but don't play that too close to the vest. Keep it in the air until the final battle just like in the original plot.

Lex Luthor, via Kryptonian ship, is given the knowledge of Darkseid coming to pepper everyone's anguses like in the original plot. Due to his narcissism, he believes the world can only rely on his genius. Have him craft his armor from Kryptonian technology, maybe intending to mass-produce and market it against the "alien threat" that he perceives Superman as being a part of. Maybe Batman confronts Lex in the ship and Lex shows him the kind of crazy **** out there in the universe. So now, Batman alone is privy to the fact that Earthling anguses are about to be peppered. **** goes wrong, Batman or Superman foil whatver plot he had, he says **** it, and he dawns the armor himself to kill them both.

Supes, Batman, and WW fight Lex in his Kryptonian-technology armor, which is more than a fair fight. WW makes her grand entrance defending Batman from Lex's lasers as opposed to Doomsday.

They beat Lex but he escapes. Whether or not his public image is destroyed, IDK. But he has files on metahumans who aren't the Justice League and he begins to search them out while in hiding. Boom. Bruce talks to Clark and Diana about other impending threats, reveals he has been keeping a file on other metas/supernatural phenomena since the battle of Metropolis in order to make sure that doesn't happen again. Boom. Batman starts the JL like Snyder wanted, Lex eventually seeds what will become the Legion of Doom, though they aren't necessarily a tight-knit group like the JL, just a loosely connected network of super-criminals funded vicariously by the same payroll.

Then you can have Flash appear to Bruce in the post-credits sequence. Or, what I would prefer, some sort of Green Lantern teaser. A Sinestro Corps War movie would slay if written well. Introduce both Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart, and like I've suggested multiple times, keep Jon on Earth afterward and keep Hal in space until maybe JL 2. For the love of God, don't release JL so damn early.
