I seen this rumor on ESPN and I would definitely be all for this if all of the top offensive tackles are gone.

The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat mentions in a blog post that the buzz in the Bay Area is that the Cowboys are talking trade with the San Francisco 49ers.

The target for is Texas' Earl Thomas, a playmaking safety who would be a perfect fit for the Cowboys. The question: Is Thomas worth what it would take to move up to No. 13 overall?

The Press-Democrat speculates that the deal could get done if the Cowboys give up their top three picks (Nos. 27, 59 and 90). That's a steep price to pay, considering the Cowboys have a significant need for quality offensive line depth among other things.

I think this whole trade idea is interesting, but we need to wait til middraft to see if this would be worth it. IMO, if Hayden is there at 13, I will be pissed we traded the pick....I dont think he will be there at 17. I do however think that Earl Thomas will be there at 17, so I would rather see us trade that pick. Of course, this all changes is Hayden is drafted before 13, then I wouldnt mind accepting the trade.

Then again, I wouldnt mind seeing Thomas in our secondary either. Regardless of who we draft, we better not swing and miss. We have a few holes to fill and I still think with the right players, the division is ours for the taking.
