Smart thing to do now with Pau is not trade him until next summer or next season's trade deadline.

He will be in his final year of his contract next season.

$19 million expiring contract will be very attractive to teams.

I believe Mitch is the one who determines what his trade partner is going to take from him.
For real. :lol

There are 2 memes of Mitch that I think are hilarious: the "basketball reasons" one and the one that says something like "Give me your star player."

If Atlanta offered Smith & Korver I'd think about it.. If they added a Devin Harris or Deshawn Stevenson I'm in

If the Bulls offered Boozer & Deng. I'm in. Before someone goes out and says Boozer :x . Deng gives us a corner 3 guy at 34mpg, and strong Defense. Boozer is better at a pick and pop. And there softness is equal. Also with his :x contract, it takes us to 2015 when Rondo & Love will be free agents and only have Dwight Howard on contract.

Nonetheless, I think we stay with Pau and just let him expire next year, and may even bring him back after

not sure if i want boozer.. i'd go for deng and noah.. cause that will give us another strong defense guy.. and a guy that doesnt give up..

Deng is a strong defensive guy.. And Noah would do exactly what offensively for us... He'd clog up the entire floor and either stand around or adversely impact Dwight..

Boozer may be :x on defense, but it certainly is passable alongside Dwight & Deng. As he normally is on the Bulls.. Also Boozer would spread the offense in a way that is better than Pau can. While Pau can hit that mid range shot, Boozer is better at it. Also Boozer seems to be less needy on the post game to play well.. He does get the ball in the post, but in comparison mid-range Pau & post Pau are miles apart in dominance.

Pau overall is a better player by a longshot over Boozer. But if you bring over Deng & Boozer and have a lineup of 5 starters who can all go for 15 a night. Nash included. All who can come in and play a D'Antoni offense. You're in great shape. Howard is pick & Roll. Boozer is pick & pop. Kobe gets the off the ball screens. Deng is the lethal corner 3s....

Of course, let's just see how Pau plays first. If he sucks, then we can talk about it.. If he's Pau of 08-09 then we hold onto him.

All speculation like I said no one knows what we'd get, who we'd get.. And I don't even think we trade Pau at all.

I like what Denver could potentially offer.

I refuse to make a team that much better and a roadblock to the finals... And with what you proposed we'd get, we'd lose to them in a series.

Lawson with AI9, Chandler, Pau, Faried, McGee... Would be curtains for us

Who would we get in a Denver deal? Gallo?

Gallo, Brewer & Filler is what P said.

I personally don't like the trade. Even more so that it is in conference.

Would move us to maybe 5th or 6th best team in the conference.

so if a trade did occur for smith would we still be able to get a max player in 2014?

Theoretically yes, if Kobe retires.

Since we know he probably isn't, No we can't afford another max player... Dwight, Kobe, Nash & Smith puts us at $54 or 55 million..

If we keep Pau, we'd have $27 without Kobe in 2014. Probably $10mil more with Kobe

A trade that does give us large cap room, but in 2015, is If we trade for Boozer & Deng (not saying that deal is on the table). And extend Deng 1 more year, Kobe 1 more year. Hill & Meeks 1 more year. We'd have $20 mil tied up in Dwight only.

My hope is that Kobe would sacrifice a lot of money, but that won't happen, nor do I think it's fair to him.

Don't care how unpopular this is: let Kobe walk if he's going to demand anything that would be an obstacle in getting a long-term star to sign here. If there's a serious chance of LeBron coming to LA, let Kobe go.

:lol FOH

Go on, tell me why. Shouldn't take you too long if you felt you just had to say that to begin with.

Still the best SG in the league.. With that if he decided to play after two years, it will be 1 or 2 more years...

It's not only unpopular, it is stupid.

Also Lebron won't opt out, let's get rid of that pipe dream right now.. And 2015 Free Agent Class > 2014.
