If you're really going for a real good fit that's right in the middle of skinny and tight , in my honest opinion you should cop some straight orregular fit jeans a size down from your true size. As you go up in size, I find that no matter what the leg and opening ends up feeling like bellbottoms

whats the differences between Rescues and New Standards besdies the leg opening.... from the measurements on context clothing it just looks like theknee-opening is just a little more tapered in....

Rescues fit more like 501's and in between regular and straight fit.
New Standards fit more slim and give off a skinny jeans vibe.
I wouldnt really recommend the NS if you're not really into tight jeans and want a more straight fit look

New Standards are more like 501.
Rescues are more like 514.

Uh...514s are slim straight, and are slimmer than 501s.
I have had Rescues, NS, 501s and 514s.
For a slimmer look, get NS, true to size if you want a straight fit, or size down 1 or 2 for a slimmer fit.

new standards are like a slim version of the 501 with a smaller leg opening. i guess you can describe it as a mix between a 511 and 501.
way i see it, you get new standards to wear with slim profile shoes (chucks, vans, etc) and rescues if you wear boots, air forces, etc

id say it depends on your build. if youre a bigger dude, size 1 down on new standards and 2 down on rescues. the thighs on rescues are wider that newstandards.

my apc new standards leg opening are wider then my 501.
my 514 are baggy as $#%#.
ns is basically a more better version of 501 cept the leg opening is wider (depending on what sz tag you get)

Y'all are confusing me. I was debating btween rescuse and NS.
I knew NS were modeled after 501 ... hence the "standard" name
but I wanted a more regular ftitting/less slim with a bit more room in the thighs but not baggy so I was considering rescues
@ some of contradicting information though

i'll go with New Standards imo.
and note, the waist/thighs stretch after a couple of wears so sz. down 1 or 2.
i szed down 1 cause i <3 sagging my pants.

i have ns tag sz 29 and my leg opening is way smaller than my 501s, my 501s have a 17 inch leg opening compared to new standards 15 inch. idk levis sizing isalways off so its hard to compare.
i should have gone with a 30 because my natural waist is a 32, cause it took me forever to stretch my pair out to the right size.

if the leg opening was 15'' then it would cover up your whole shoe.
