Shaboozey got snubbed and country music's need to alienate people that aren't white as "not country" is why it's looked at the way it is.

Shaboozey’s song is a contribution to pop country and possibly even past that, an even further blend away from traditional country than we’ve been seeing on music row. Idk why he didn’t win, I’m in the camp far away from Nashville and all the gaudy award shows. I personally wasn’t a fan of his song / songs, but I’m also not a fan of most of those songs at those award shows.

In the traditional country scene, the newer artists are very encouraging and accepting of anyone as long as they make good country music and are their authentic selves.

Theres levels. The bolded is key. The old ****, back when it was just R&B for white folks is top tier, the new stuff?? Not it. They're going through the same thing as other genres in music, it’s all been dumbed down.

It’s been watered down for popular appeal.. pop country garbage. All of it. White brown black idc .. lemme hear the music and don’t even show me who made it. I’m fine with that.

I used to be in Nebraska a lot for work I remember they had this radio show that would play old country, I feel like it was run by some punk rock heads or something because they would play the most gnarly **** about over dosing and murder.

I couldn’t tell you who the artists were but I like that stuff over the feel good boot licker pop country.
