All fun and games until the prior generations' programming rears its ugly head, basically. Again, I take out the trash and always have. But when we act like this stuff is no brainers or anything is obvious, that's all we're doing - resting on societal norms from previous generations.
Not everything new generations do is right, not everything the old generation did was wrong.
Absolutely man. Like for instance, this new generation gets criticized or talked to about something they did wrong and they damn near collapse into a state of depression. I don't get it.
Household chores shouldn’t have gender roles. If you’re already leaving and the trash is full take it with you. If you get home from work first and the house is a mess, start cleaning.
I briefly dated a chick who would walk ahead of me then dead stop at a door till I got there to open it for her. Absolutely ******* not, you’re a grown adult. Nobody got time for that ****.
... and there are boomers & millennials who go into a fit of rage when criticized or told they did something wrong.Absolutely man. Like for instance, this new generation gets criticized or talked to about something they did wrong and they damn near collapse into a state of depression. I don't get it.
Well they also feel this way when the dude can cook better than them. I've run into this often. All fun and games until she's telling how she doesn't feel like a woman around you.

Why you so fixated on the trash man
Just curious. Cause you're like I'm only talking about the trash and nothing else.
Loved the Napoleon Dynamite and Cambage reference
But like why the trash? Why does that absolutely have to be done by a dude. You've got a story behind this, I can tell
A partner who understands she's gotta pull her weight. Also what do I gain from getting this woman to take out the trash beyond a headache
I can see why people thought you were talking about other scenarios; because you mentioned another scenario from the jump, and said the word 'things' (plural).Just for the record, I was ONLY talking about taking out the trash here.
I simply don't think a discussion needs to be had about that. I don't care if one man looks like Napoleon Dynamite and his woman looks like Liz Cambage; by default HE needs to take out the trash.
Just for the record, I was ONLY talking about taking out the trash here.

I said, nah. Somethings are just understood.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯My response was if there was a sound downstairs at 2 am, is that something that needs to be discussed or is that something understood
A partner who understands she's gotta pull her weight.
That's the fun convo. Make with the story.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(Sidebar: I can see why you think I argue just to argue: because I'm confrontational with you a lot. There's a reason for that but that's a different conversation.)
Taking out the trash and changing a tire are 2 totally different things.
No, because i dont believe my wife capable of doing it at this point in time. Not without a ton of assitance. If her car has a flat tire y'all going to expect her to change it herself too?
