Donald Trump is running for president

I think, this is coming from a non voter, that the numbers reported of people that voted are a lie.

I think trump was set to win by the powers that be.

I think votes don't matter. I think even if everyone turned out and voted Hillary trump still would of won. I think even the percentage of people that voted, more voted for Hillary yet it was always going to be this outcome. whenever they started electoral votes and the rest of that jib jab and adding dead candidates or a fill in the blank space, it's a joke.

That's just my thinking. How could we ever know and trust them? We gotta count ourselves.

And this is just speculation but imagine hillary in the whitehouse, she less likely to play ball, bigger risk factor in office. Trump can be bought a lot easier.

I  swear people didnt even know these candidates and their policies and what they want.

Just voting based on the few things they hear on social media

These are really interesting times ahead. You have to be really naive to think that he'll be able to do most of the things he said. He will become the regular politician. People wanted change from the status quo but all they did was to change the figure head. Only in America can a billionaire from the biggest city in the country make ppl believe he's the champion of the Everyman.

Thats the real ironic part about all of this in my humble opinion.

The white rural vote came out and let their voices be heard (and on some level I can understand how theyve been feeling)

They were sick of the "elite" or the "establishment."

So you vote for the rich NYC businessman who really doesn't feel your plight

I just cannot make sense of this in my head.

People are idiots, plain and simple.

I don't mean that in a mean way necessarily. But people tend to have trouble judging value based on higher level complexities. We are great at the basic things -- food, sex, shelter. Like we know when milk has gone bad, and we have an innate sense of which members of the opposite sex make the best reproductive partners... But for picking a president? Our instincts on that are piss poor and what is required is a more complex analysis of multiple factors in an effort to figure out who will do the best job. But that's too difficult so most people rely on their instincts and don't go beyond that. That's why an authoritarian guy who looks chubby like they do and builds shiny big things is the king of the apes.

We spent this past year engaging in lofty discussions (well, when we weren't being sidetracked by blco and company) about which candidate is best for the country based on our well-studied assessment of politics, economics, sociology, etc. But the average voter? They want to feel safe and they want shiny objects. Beyond that they're not engaging in any honest analysis.

We learned a million things through this endless election season. But I think a few ones to note are about the things we learned no longer really matter.

- Having your own party turn your back on you does not matter.
- Polls that go on forever designed to give us the pulse of the American voter do not matter.
- The tradition of releasing your tax records and the comedy of not doing so does not matter. (Trump would have destroyed Clinton if she pulled this).
- The three debates do not matter. It was largely written that if anyone "won" it was Clinton for all three.
- The celebrity endorsement no longer matters. This isn't a huge deal but it still is interesting to observe. Clinton had nearly all sports stars in her corner, had the usual music events with the heavy hitters. Donald Trump's most vocal celebs were basically Scott Baio and Ted Nugent. We are a nation that is obsessed with celebs and yes their opinions matter to the young.
- (Bonus) You have virtually no chance in this country to win president as a woman unless you are attractive with a great smile. That's how our male-controlled society works and always will.

It's officially now American Idol.

Thank god no more socialism
Where not canada and where not europe.

Thought I am surprised that President Trump won.

I believe with trump the USA will not be the police of the world like we have been for the past 16 years and we will take care of Americans no matter what the color creed or religion of who and what we are.

God bless the United states of America

I believe we have to police or flex to a certain degree. Russia gonna run rampant doing whatever they want knowing Trump gonna turn a blind eye. Jack the price of oil, taking more land back of the former USSR, impose their own interests and possible funding to sketchy organizations in the Mid East and plenty more. Why are they so happy and open to better relations with us today and not yesterday?

One thing I do hope for, is for Trump to really get this economy booming and put more money into our infrastructure and like you said taking care of ourselves financially. His agenda on everything else, *#^$ that.

Are you delusional?

Nope

Of course we have to still be the front runner of doing things but look how we destroyed Iraq and Libya
If Russian wants the Middle East let them have it
The only good thing Obama did was kill Osama bin laden.

your right I hope he will get the economy in order
But with obama everything has went up everything in the past eight years
Everything

Obama could have really made a difference but he didn't the American public has spoken as much as liberals think otherwise

I will say I don't care for Rudolph Giuliani
If trump put him in his cabinet which I suspect he will that's going to be a problem

I don't agree with this. Hillary wasn't a good candidate no matter how much they tried to hand it to her and tell us how qualified she was.

The majority of white women voted for Trump.

thats where the white supermacy kicks in. They had to restore the feeling.

People really put a guy in office with not an ounce of political experience. Zip. Never was a mayor, governor, senator, congressman ....nothing. Looked bad in every debate (if you can call what he was doing debating), and **** on every type of citizen under the sun. They voted for a reality show star with multiple failed businesses under his belt. Still in disbelief, but him being in office is very telling with the climate right now.

The "Terminator" was once the governor of the biggest state in our country. A German action movie star turned republican governor.....

Let's not forget that. At all

This might be old news, but martin Shkreli leaked one of the unreleased Wu-Tang songs he bought after Trump one.

When Obama was running for his first term, a lot of people used his "lack of experience" as an argument against him
