Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Thanks, man..though I've been warned by The Lord to not be so active or else he will send the goonz out for me.
:lol No. I think at least 8 other members do. Really solid boots. I already have similar ones from Tricker's and Alden so I can't justify the need to purchase it.

Oh. Just asking because I'm still wondering about sizing.

Oh. Just asking because I'm still wondering about sizing.

i was told that going down half a size, or going TTS, is pretty normal..

i usually wear a 10.5 and ordered a 10 D.. the first wear was pretty rough as the leather was stiff and not broken in.. now they're extremely comfortable (im assuming the wears stretched them out/broke them in..)

FYI they've been worn about 5-8 times it didn't take long.. hope this helps bro :smokin

Thanks for the sizing info guys. Im going to go with a 9 considering I won't wear really thick socks and also taking the breaking in process into consideration.

Honestly idk what you guys consider Dalton's to be, more of a dress up shoe or casual shoe. But Im definitely going to wear them with denim and maybey a hoody. I don't even care.

I own 3 pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes in size 11D and went with 11.5 D in Dalton's to account for thicker socks.

i think i'll probably go with my normal athletic shoe size next time to be able to wear semi thicker socks.. i dont usually wear "boot" socks wit any of my boots though.. just thicker dress socks for the winter

they can be work casually or you can definitely dress them up..

they get regular wear during the week at work and i won't hesitate to throw on some jeans, nice shirt, and jacket during the evening if i go out and don't feel like thinking too much about it... just one of the reasons why they're great investment shoes..

im stuck between copping this j crew factory thompson wool suit or a napoli from suit supply outlet? both roughly around the 190 - 300 range

anyone have any experience on either to justify copping one over the other?

I wear a 12 in Nike and I'm pretty sure a size 12 in Dalton's would have been too big. The 11.5 gives me room with thin dress socks and is just right for wearing thicker wool socks with.

I've tried on the Thompson suit in store and the fit is surprisingly good for OTR. Would have had to make minimal changes to the pants (hem and taper) but the jacket fit spot on.

No experience with Suit Supply but my next suit purchase will most likely be from them. I've been to the Georgetown store a couple times and everything looks so nice

i hit up a friend of mine who has the wool/poly version of the thompson and he said he loves it.. especially at that price point..
i've wanted to cop from suit supply for some time but the JC Factory price is undeniable..at least at the moment lol

Trying to piece together an outfit for a college fashion show to go with these. Was thinking all black (blazer, chinos/trousers and dress shirt). Since these are not actually dress shoes would I be better off getting a pair of black chinos instead of a pair of trousers? Also what do you guys think about a black velvet blazer?

I'm a fan of the Thompson fit for me as it requires minor tailoring. However if you are no the higher end of the range in regards to the thompson, go with Suit Supply. SuitSupply suits are half-canvassed while JCF are fused. In terms of durability and quality you are getting a better suit with SuitSupply.

Just left JCrew, scooped the JACKET AND PANTS CENTER VENT IN JAPANESE SEERSUCKER.... out the door for $ 72.87

I NEVER find my size on sale (36S)

I believe the rack was mispriced, and also the Associate stated the entire store was 30% off... ( I was the only male in the store @ open) took the suit to the register, cashier stated price, i said nnnnoopppee, Tag says XXX, she then changes the price.. Proceeds to call Manager to have rack changed to correct pricing, then i mention that she hadnt taken off the 30%... She says "Excluding Ludlow".. Again , Nnnooppppeee, I called the Associate to the register to verify what he told me( I had the suit in my hand when i asked him what is all 30% and i ask "Even clearance?" )  And BAM they dropped the 30%....

I know this can be looked at as haggling, if you read it the wrong way. However, I was a Retail Store Manager for a VERY long time, and i know how to act without russling jimmies.

Cashier stated "Well you more than likely had the best JCrew Black Friday deal" - and gave me the lil smile....      Smh, i dont need that lil flirting smile, I need that employee discount playa

Thanks bro.. I had that in mind knowing that in the long term a JCF suit may be a decent price, but its only decent for the type of suit it is--fused.. I'll need something for an interview soon so for now its the best deal for value and immediate use.. I wanted to roll with a suit supply piece but was caught in the web of a "good deal" lol.

Just food for thought:

My company works with a local firm that helps out of work Americans re enter the workforce by providing them with professional wardrobe. We donate clothes that are no longer or rarely used with a goal of benefitting someone else.

Historically, this thread is pretty tight knit and members even sent clothes to others for free. It was a piloted idea that never took off really. I know a lot of the gents here are college students that will enter the professional world soon. Some may not have the proper wardrobe for the interviews nor have the funds to acquire the outfits. Not sure if the members here would be willing to get rid of their old clothes for these up and coming professionals so they can at least have a starting foundation.

Again, this is food for thought. A lot of logistics will have to be ironed out if it goes down.

Not too up on everyone's socioeconomic status here but I'm assuming if you are on here and graduating college you are not truly "in need". I think we would be better off donating to those who are actually less fortunate.
