Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Hi. New to this, impressions on Cole haan lunar grand wing tips? Retail is $248 but I'm paying 120 for the milkshake colorway, can these be used in a dressy type setting ? I'm used to just buying some click clacks all black from payless, I wanna trying to be a little more stylish?
Click clacks?

Lunars are a casual tip only fam. Take that $120 and buy some non payless joints.

I probably missed it while I've been skimming through the thread, but are there any favorites when it comes to the made to measure suits? From a quick online search I'm seeing Brooks Brothers and Indochino. Are those pretty official or are there better options?
Most of my suits are from Thick as thieves. Folks here like indochino and suit supply too. I'm sure other folks can chime in.

trying to guess what click clacks are.  I'm guessing leather soled shoes that make a sound walking on a hard surface?  I can't wait to hear the answer.

Keep in mind a "dressy type setting is anything that requires more than a t-shirt & jeans for a lot of folks.  I honestly think Lunargrands are smart for a club...they look fine, comfortable and cheap enough at this point that if they get ****** up it's not a big deal.

Not for a wedding, interview, etc.

I like the shoe, but it's def casual

Are these challenges supposed to be...challenging?  I'd think y'all would want it to be out of your comfort zone a little to see how well you can pull something off.

2¢ from a non-participant.

I agree. Any suggestions?

It all depends on the challenge as well. Some of us work in a more professional/corporate environment and may not be able to get away with some things.

Got a wedding to go to this weekend...apparently the event is half indoor-half outdoors... I purchased a linen suit. How can I dress it up to be made appropriate for the indoor portion. I purchased it from Zara (student budget) but it does have more structure than most of the other linen suits there.

I hear you.  I didn't even have anything in mind and I was trying to avoid what could be taken as a shot at anyone but it seems like it's the first time the idea of a challenge comes up in a long time and one of the first suggestions was like, "I just got this suit I'm gonna wear so let's make it a challenge that this fits into."  That's why I was like, that's not "challenging" at all!

It's tougher now that it's summer and too warm in most areas to do some things.  Obviously y'all can do whatever you like but I just thought maybe it'd be a good idea to not wear what you wear every day.

I missed this when you posted @itspopp  but the 2nd picture looks pretty good.  1st one just seems off and it's not a matter of any piece in particular but I think it's the proportions and the fact that the shirt is kinda ill fitting and billowy in some areas, looks tucked in kinda strangely, sleeves are wide but along the left side of your midsection it looks like it's pinned or something but the rest of it is off.  Also, doesn't help that you're pulling up your pants but they look kinda flared at the bottom.
These $25-35 dollar super shiney, heel tapping down a long hallway type dress shoes are what I consider click clacks

I mean I didn't mean to a wedding or interview , just out to dinner or night out in the city
Gotcha.  Yeah, don't buy anything like what's in that link you posted.  I had to go to my browser history and immediately delete it.  If I died, I wouldn't care if porn links came up, sites about skinning cats or how to bleach your pubes were all over the place but if someone saw that I'd viewed those shoes right there, my legacy would be tarnished.

Anyway, depending on the setting...plus what you wear them with, you could go with them IMO.  Any examples what you wanna wear?  Is it the tan suede with the brick sole?

Tie Bar on a job interview yay or nay?
What company, what title are you interviewing for?
Private Equity firm in an analyst type role. I also tied a 4 in Hand as opposed to a windsor because I hate how fat the windsor is around the neck.
Hmmm, it is all yp to you then.

I usually don't take my jacket off during interviews, so a tie bar isn't needed.
Full windsor would look off but a 4IH or Half Windsor would be just fine.

Most folks wear ties bars for flash versus function. I'd just opt out altogether. Go solid white linen/cotton PS for an accessory.

i know there are a couple New Jersey heads in here, any of you guys been
to cape may? im looking for a decent place to stay at the end of the month.
