You can look sharp for a ridiculously low amount of money nowadays thanks to fast fashion brands like H&M, Uniqlo, Zara, etc. I don't think I would want to have baller brand stuff in college because chances are you're going to get beer, food, etc. spilled on them.My opinions on mid range priced shoes and suiting.
There are reputable brands such as Cole Haan, Calvin Klein, Boss, etc that make really good suits and dress shoes. Many of you guys are either just starting your careers or graduating college. No need to drop $500 plus on a suit and your body hasn't fully matured yet. Plus, I am sure your pockets aren't there yet. (If you got it, ball out broth). But don't hassle yourself with Allen Edmonds, Bespoke suiting etc until you are fully sure how you would like to dress. Most adult men only have 2-3 suits. I work in a business casual office and only wear slacks and dress shirts with the occasional sweater or blazer in the fall/winter months.
I wear Cole Haan shoes. Not only because i was first put on with the Nike Air, but because i walk a lot and need the comfort. (I have no idea what I am going to do when Nike sells Cole Haan at the end of the year) If you beat up shoes like I do you may want to buy shoes for everyday wear and then invest in higher end shoes for your special occasions. Just my 2 cents.
A nice fitting $200 suit, crisp **** and tie, matching shoes and belt will take you far. Now when you get that corner office...I will be mad if you don't upgrade. LOL.
Don't go in debt buying clothes, that's just not smart at all.
