Dressing better

I need some opinions on this...I'm about to graduate high school soon and have a boat trip coming up...any opinions on this? what's good what's bad?

I think the shirt and socks are fine, but if it's a boat trip in the late Spring, I would want to go with khakis or maybe nantucket reds and boat shoes.  Also, I would wear a knit tie or another lightweight non-bowtie.

Ive never worn a bowtie, so I am asking for opinions. Im going to someones graduation and was considering this. What do you think? And if you dont think it looks bad, could I wear light or dark gray dress paints/black shoes, or do I need to wear tan pants.

I would lose the bow tie and the sweater, and just wear the shirt and a pair of pants.
Plus, both the sweater and bow tie look like they are from the Fall season.
If you have to wear a tie, then  solid navy knit tie would work well.

It all depends on the material.  If it's wool, then I would not wear it.  But if it's linen, or a light cotton, I then putting it over a solid white
oxford would be a nice look.  At the end of the day, do what you feel comfortable in.
