didnt know you owned this thread. These polls are bs though anyway, the most important stat is new voter registration, which the dems are killin at
Never said I did, nice reading comprehension & interpretation though.
Actually that isn't the most important stat, the most important stat will be voter turnout.

Look at what the other candidates agree on. Will Obama or McCain agree to these principals too?

We Agree

The Republican/Democrat duopoly has, for far too long, ignored the most important issues facing our nation. However, alternate candidates Chuck Baldwin,Cynthia McKinney, and Ralph Nader agree with Ron Paul on four key principles central to the health of our nation. These principles should be key in theconsiderations of every voter this November and in every election.

We Agree

Foreign Policy: The Iraq War must end as quickly as possible with removal of all our soldiers from the region. We must initiate the return of our soldiers fromaround the world, including Korea, Japan, Europe and the entire Middle East. We must cease the war propaganda, threats of a blockade and plans for attacks onIran, nor should we re-ignite the cold war with Russia over Georgia. We must be willing to talk to all countries and offer friendship and trade and travel toall who are willing. We must take off the table the threat of a nuclear first strike against all nations.

Privacy: We must protect the privacy and civil liberties of all persons under US jurisdiction. We must repeal or radically change the Patriot Act, the MilitaryCommissions Act, and the FISA legislation. We must reject the notion and practice of torture, eliminations of habeas corpus, secret tribunals, and secretprisons. We must deny immunity for corporations that spy willingly on the people for the benefit of the government. We must reject the unitary presidency, theillegal use of signing statements and excessive use of executive orders.

The National Debt: We believe that there should be no increase in the national debt. The burden of debt placed on the next generation is unjust and alreadythreatening our economy and the value of our dollar. We must pay our bills as we go along and not unfairly place this burden on a future generation.

The Federal Reserve: We seek a thorough investigation, evaluation and audit of the Federal Reserve System and its cozy relationships with the banking, corporate, and other financial institutions. The arbitrary power to create money and credit out of thin air behind closed doors for the benefit of commercialinterests must be ended. There should be no taxpayer bailouts of corporations and no corporate subsidies. Corporations should be aggressively prosecuted fortheir crimes and frauds.

These candidates including former presidential candidate Ron Paul, have always discuss the real issues that is affecting our country. I don't supportcandidates that are corporte sponsored. Who will you think they'll listen to more? You, with your $20 donation or to the corporation that donatesmillions. Lets look at the other candidates too. You may have more in common with them than you think.

I was going to vote for Ron Paul if hes was still running. But Nader will be my choice.

Presidential Candidates John McCain and Barack Obama will Kick-off the Two-day Summit on Civic Engagement and Public Service on Sept. 11

In their first joint appearance since the party conventions, presidential nominees John McCain and Barack Obama will discuss service and civic engagement in the post-9/11, post-Katrina world during the primetime televised "ServiceNation Presidential Candidates Forum" on the evening of Thursday, Sept. 11, hosted by Columbia University in the City of New York, as part of the ServiceNation Summit.

The Forum is being organized by ServiceNation, a dynamic new coalition of 110 organizations that has a collective reach of some 100 million Americans and is dedicated to strengthening democracy and solving problems through civic engagement and service.

The presidential candidates forum will kickoff the bipartisan ServiceNation Summit, held on Sept. 11-12, and ServiceNation's national campaign to expand voluntary community and national service opportunities for all Americans. PBS NewsHour anchor Judy Woodruff will join moderator Richard Stengel, managing editor of TIME magazine, to question the candidates-who will appear separately-about their views on the meaning and importance of service.

The in-depth, back-to-back interviews will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET before a live audience of Sept. 11 family members, military veterans, thought leaders, and Columbia University students. New York Gov. David Paterson will welcome the audience before the start of the event.

Given its longstanding commitment to civic engagement in and outside the classroom, with its wide array of service learning, volunteer action and social entrepreneurship programs, Columbia University is honored to serve as host for a forum about an idea that is so central to our society and to the mission of higher education.
Man %+*#! Why the hell does Columbia always keep getting all the damn speakers? Shoulda had it at Cornell

They give a great snapshot of where things stand in the race as far as nationally as well as state by state for the Electoral College.

I never put a lot into these polls, even when Obama was winning. Cause it doesn't matter right now. It matters in November.

This will probably be Palin's only interview until the debate so ABC is milking this thing for all its worth.

Gallup's tracking poll, USA Today and CBS News all show the Republicans with some kind of lead over the Democratic ticket. But, interestingly, all three polls were also conducted using a higher sampling of Republican voters than in July, thus raising a question of methodology.

Wouldn't doubt it. These polls are just projectionshardly nothing concrete. Who are they polling, what are they polling, where are they polling... I mean its all subjective based on whose conducting theinterviews. Then you have all these unknown factors not in the equation like young people or new registered voters whom are harder to reach due to them onlyowning a cell phone. Then you have that 3% margin of error and based on the results of these polls, they are all within this margin so its still pointless tomake a guess whose winning or losing. Like I said nothing concrete so don't pay too much attn to em like this Tbone character.

lol..Bush got owned in that first debate with Kerry.

BTW did they ever figure out what that weird bulge in his back was in the rest of the debates? pause.

Oh and since you like polls. . .

http://abcnews.go.com/sec...4/debate_poll_040930.html
Oct. 1, 2004- John Kerry won the first debate and with it a shot at reinvigorating his campaign for the presidency, an ABC News poll found. But in the first blush, vote preferences among viewers were unmoved.
Among a random sample of 531 registered voters who watched the debate, 45 percent called Kerry the winner, 36 percent said it was President Bush and 17 percent called it a tie. It was a clean win for Kerry: Independents by a 20-point margin said he prevailed.

[h3]Today's Polls, 9/11[/h3]
Here is a comparison of our projected margins of victory on August 26th -- the Tuesday of the Democratic convention, before polling had any chance to take Michelle Obama's opening night speech into effect -- with our projections today in a select group of states that have been polled since the RNC ended.
Code:
State   8/26          9/11           ChangeNH      Obama  +1.4   Obama  +3.3    Obama  +1.9WV      McCain +8.1   McCain +7.4    Obama  +0.7ME      Obama +12.9   Obama +13.0    Obama  +0.1FL      McCain +3.5   McCain +3.8    McCain +0.3NJ      Obama  +8.0   Obama  +7.5    McCain +0.5OH      McCain +0.7   McCain +1.3    McCain +0.6NM      Obama  +2.2   Obama  +1.5    McCain +0.7MI      Obama  +3.0   Obama  +2.0    McCain +1.0WI      Obama  +7.1   Obama  +5.8    McCain +1.3CO      Obama  +1.2   McCain +0.4    McCain +1.6PA      Obama  +6.3   Obama  +4.6    McCain +1.7NV      McCain +0.5   McCain +2.2    McCain +1.7==============AVERAGE: McCAIN +2.1 ===============VA      McCain +0.6   McCain +3.1    McCain +2.5ND      McCain +9.1   McCain +12.5   McCain +3.4NC      McCain +3.8   McCain +7.5    McCain +3.7MS      McCain +13.4  McCain +17.4   McCain +4.0MT      McCain +3.5   McCain +8.3    McCain +4.8GA      McCain +8.5   McCain +13.5   McCain +5.0WA      Obama  +11.5  Obama  +6.3    McCain +5.2ID      McCain +19.1  McCain +30.0   McCain +11.9AK      McCain +6.6   McCain +20.4   McCain +13.8
McCain's gain in our popular vote projection has been 2.1 points. Note, however, that his gains have been less than that in essentially all of themost important swing states, including Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Colorado, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. Only Virginia is on the other side of the line, andthen only barely so.

As a result of all this, the Electoral College remains too close to call, even though McCain has a 1-2 point advantage in the popular vote. Obama now has an 8.4 percent chance of winning the Electoral College while losing the popular vote, which is far and away the highest that this number has been all year. And that number may get larger rather than smaller, once polling filters in from other red states like Texas, Nebraska and South Carolina. Palin may have been a brilliant VP selection -- I think even Palinophobes like me have to concede that right now McCain's looking pretty savvy -- but some of that sheen is taken off by her somewhat lackluster effect on the Electoral College.
