Employers and GPA ?

I have a question. Do employers who ask for your transcript  usually look at your cumulative GPA or your Major GPA ?

They look at both. Some companies are real heavy on Overall GPA.

My mentor which works for a company I want to start with said overall GPA is crucial for them.

I've seen almost an equal amount of both but I think it depends heavily on the field. When I was looking for a Business Analyst job in various fields they usually asked for cumulative. Then when I was looking at Economic Research/Analyst type positions they asked for your major GPA.

Dont let ANYONE (esp on NT) tell you your GPA doesn't matter. When it's all said and done, the better it is the better your chances are in this job market and with degrees losing their value..
