And what do we consider people who spend $1000's on Nike products? Clearly, Nike quality, Jordan Brand quality, is inferior to other brands. The consumer pays a huge premium over the quality of the product they are getting.

I don't agree that Nike's quality, Jordan Brand quality is inferior to other brands. I factor in the design of the shoe, which counts for a lot and in most cases Nike/JB has superior designs.

Ninjahood used an example of iphones. A lot of people can argue that Apple's design is superior in some ways to other companies but I think its pretty much accepted that the Iphone is inferior to other phones with respect to specs.
Design is subjective.
Yes, Nike has had some great designs. Tinker Hatfield is a legend. But I can say for sure that another comparable brand, like New Balance for example, offers better quality materials on their shoes. A lot of Nike Basketball tech is innovative.....but having said that, let's be real here, the reason a lot of us are shoe enthusiasts is because we are "badge flossing" as Ninjahood as accused others of doing above.

by your logic they buy it for looks a 335 and 328 only difference is the exhaust so why not get the higher model with more performance? because its cheaper and looks almost the samereally? how is it badge flossing if they like the car for the looks and not the badge? if someone likes the way it looks ( not the badge ) like the last gen 3 series, they are not into speed, rims, engine, brakes... whats is so wrong with it? you buy shirts because of the way they look all the time... why not buy something cheaper that is thicker and keeps you warmer? why are you short changing yourself?
but a c300 and a c350 are almost identical except the badge so if they are buying it for the looks? why not the c350 looks exactly like the c300 because its cheaper?
oh but then why not buy a c250? only real difference is the exhaust much like a 328 and a 335
a c300 is cool entry level luxury for those who want to push a benz much like a 328 and people only buy these cars because of the badge (they are paying for the mercedes/bmw name not for any of the luxury features or performance which makes the 335/c350 a much more financially logical choice as the cost difference is minor compared to extra features and spec aka more bang for your buck if you must push a c-class/3 series over a camry)

C300 is a 6cyl while a c250 is a 4cyl... same goes for the 4dr 328 (4cyl) vs 335 (6cyl)

ok.. my mother in law just bought a brand new pilot a couple year ago... she is a bit on the older side.. all she wanted was the room and awd.. she didnt want nav, because she doesnt know how to use it.. leather? no she said it gets too hot and she doesnt like the feeling.. who are you to tell her to get a fully loaded pilot for a extra 7 or 8k for stuff she didnt want? she even said she can use that 8k to go to cambodia.. is she wrong?
Anybody that argues that Apple's design is superior, which hasn't changed in like over 10 years from the ipod to the iphone are full of crap. While design is subjective, it is generally accepted that Nike/JB has the better looking shoes overall. So, I don't completely agree about the badge flossing even though I do agree that there is badge flossing going on, especially by the non-shoe enthusiasts. There are a lot of people in the Reebok threads about Shaq and Iverson signature sneaker lines as well. Those threads are well over 100 pages and although design is subjective, the first Iverson Question is generally regarded as one of Reebok's best signature shoes ever.
Also, there's nothing wrong with buying something because you like the way it looks over a product that has better quality but doesn't look good to you. The way something looks is a very important quality.

I saw a 70 something year old lady driving a 5 series 10 mph below the speed limit the other day. I was thinking, what a waste of car. She needed to be in a Lincoln or a Corrolla.

here's where alot of ya are missing da link between where something gains prestige and someone tries to buy into thats

BMW's have that notoriety BECAUSE of them being known as driver orientated cars and that spills over into badge flossers

look at foamposites these days, they were lauded for their PERFORMANCE so you had LOYAL dudes always copping them,
then that morphed into "buying foamposites just cuz they're status of being expensive" which totally negates what got em
