SLIGHTLY MAD STUDIOS WELCOMES NICOLAS HAMILTON

POSTED: NOVEMBER 12, 2012

Slightly Mad Studios is delighted to announce the newest contributor to Project CARS as real-life racing driver Nicolas Hamilton has joined the studio as Handling Consultant for the new title.

Nicolas is an excellent fit for Project CARS as his experience combines vast knowledge from racing in the real world and roots in simulation racing, allowing him to understand both sides and effectively help Project CARS fulfil its potential.

Born in Herfordshire, England, in 1992, Nicolas was brought up in the motorsports world alongside older brother Lewis. Born with Cerebral Palsy, Nicolas has always made sure this wouldn’t stop him from pursing his passion for racing.

After a first try of karting at the age of 7, Nicolas’ racing career kicked into higher gear in 2010 when he impressed everyone testing a BMW M3 at Palmer Sport. His smooth driving style earned him his MSA Novice Racing License and secured him a seat in the Air Asia Renault Clio Cup where he has been competing ever since.

Nicolas has started his second Clio Cup season this year, driving for T.C.R. You can check out a video of Nicolas in action below.

Aside from making it in the real racing world, Nicolas has also made a name for himself in simulation racing, finishing first in the 2009 SBTCC Championship and racing successful in plenty of other community-organized sim racing events.

Nicolas will be assisting the development team with making the handling in Project CARS as authentic as possible, as well as providing other general feedback.

Furthermore, he’ll join tens of thousands of members in the WMD forums, sharing his view of all the latest developments in a weekly blog for all members to enjoy.

Don’t forget to subscribe to the RSS feed and follow Project CARS & Slightly Mad Studios on Twitter for even more Project CARS news.

The photo distorts it, but still the climb to T1 looks impressive.

HOLY CRAP AT THAT FIRST TURN! :eek :x :hat Looks like the marshals and other track officials are going to have a hard time going up that hill when there's an incident! :lol

I take it back; it looks like it's going to be a good track. F1 2012 just makes the track too flat and look bad. :lol :o

In other news... Ferrari trying to find other means of taking Vettel out of contention. :lol

Eyebrow man = Alonso or Maldonado (although Maldonado looks more like Bert from Sesame Street :lol )?

Turn 1 reminds me of an inverted "Senna S" in Interlagos. They should've employed a similar exit to that right before Turn 2, right before the Maggots and Becketts-like complex.

Track looks extremely wide, too. Definitely a fan of the more narrower old circuits.

Almost forgot the Macau Grand Prix was also happening this weekend. Two racers already died. RIP :\

^ Yes, sir.  I think it was 7 years since their last casualty... and then now 2 in 2 days.

Anyway, Seb...

What a quali!!!

Lewis was clearly the star... made things very interesting for RBR.

@zk1MPLS DEAD @ Maldonado looking like Bert from Sesame Street :rollin

Eyebrow Man is Fernando Alonso. There was an episode of Top Gear where it featured Lewis Hamilton and Jeremy Clarkson made fun of Alonso by calling him Eyebrow Man :lol

By the way...what's the Macau Grand Prix? 8o

Welp Qualifying just finished.
1. Vettel
2. Hamilton
3. Webber
4. Grosjean
5. Raikkonen
6. Schumacher :eek
7. Alonso

Reliability issues hit JB again :{

Fell asleep quite early last night. Sounds like it was a good qualifying session, save for Alonso, being a second-and-a-half behind. Oh well.

Here's to hoping Seb and Red Bull don't wrap up the WDC this weekend. :\

Here's an onboard lap of the Macau Guia Circuit:

By the way, it is worth mentioning that the Macau Grand Prix Circuit was confirmed a few months ago to be included in the list of tracks in Project CARS. Really looking forward to that. :hat (pardon if this looks like a plug for the game. just was a pleasant surprise that we're given an opportunity to drive around the track at least virtually lol) .

Sweet.  I've only done 3 laps of the Macau circuit and that was at the Macau GP museum on their "simulator".  Basically a computer, a G27, a raceseat and an LCD screen.  Good fun though.  I was able to top the timesheets after lap 2.  Now before all you cats start to hail me as a racing-god *crickets chirping*, all I did was NOT-CRASH.  Early braking, stay on the line and kept it clean.  I wasn't even pushing...

I think it might have been rFactor?

Anyway, Lewis on the dirty-side of the track... this will not end well.

There's a Macau GP Museum? 8o Didn't get to see that when I was over there. Well, I didn't get to see much of Macau overall. Found it to be a much sleepier version of Hong Kong. :lol Might try the bungee off Macau Tower (world's highest still?) someday.

It's sick to realize that the starting grid and paddock is basically right beside the ferry terminal/heliport when you arrive, though. :smokin

EDIT: Googled the Macau GP Museum. It's awesome! Entrance fee is very reasonable, too.
