Had LASA this morning. Was really good. Gf liked the pan de sal French toast. Think I’m gonna take my parent to try their dinner menu.

Had some Diniguan last night that my tita makes :smokin . I’m just sad that I don’t have anymore to eat today :lol .

Team had a 2 week preparation with a weak coach and out of shape should be best player on paper in Blatche.

I miss 2014 Gilas where they kept all the game close smh.

Anybody in the LA area, my cousin's there til next week can an NT Filipino fam oop me a Kobe 1 protro for the $35-$40 range that I saw in the kobe 1 thread.

Outlets in the Philippines never get lower than $120 smh

Yo I need some help. Can you guys lmk which is your favorite brand of Polvoron? Is it available here in the US or PI (I’d like to know for both countries tbh) and where can I buy it? I used to mess with Goldilocks/LeeLin but they fell off in terms of taste and quality so now I’ve been on the hunt for the best polvoron that my money can buy. :lol

Also anyone ever make it and have a recipe that they can vouch for? I used to make it way back in the day with my mom but now I forgot her recipe and she never saved it. I know the basic ingredients are flour, sugar, butter, and powdered milk. I just don’t remember the ratios. I know I can check online but I’d like to know from any NTers if they got some chef skills. :lol
Thanks!

Had no idea there was a month designated for Filipino Heritage. That's cool.

I have a question about fried chicken - particularly Max's.
So I used to go there quite a bit when I lived in Glendale. Had Max's today for the first time in about 6 years.

I've been a little scared of Filipino food if I don't know what it is, since my first exposure to it was in Manila, many many years ago, eating Sesig, without knowing what it was.
I've never been able to branch out beyond the chicken, lechon and sinigang, noticed every other table seemed to have some sizzling dish being brought to their table. Don't know what it was, and waiter was too busy for me to ask.

How does Max's compare for these two things to other places around OC, maybe somewhere near Cerritos?
Is it trash? Good as it gets? I feel like my family were the only non Filipinos in there. To me that usually means a spot is authentic or good when majority of the people are of that heritage.

There's a Filipino nurse I always see when I go to the doctor appointments . There's a good chance she's married , but that won't stop me from trying to get some lovin next time I pass through

The dish was probably sisig. It's served on a hot skillet and always a top seller.

I don't get what two things you're talking about lol, but in general Max's is pretty popular because its a known quantity. Max's is a really big and really popular chain in the Philippines. The spots in/around Cerritos are ok, more variety of dishes IIRC but Max's stays in its' lane and does it well.

Sorry, what I meant to ask was, are there places around OC/LA that does fried chicken and lechon better. I enjoy Max's but looking for a place closer. I never know what to think of Yelp ratings.
