FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Seen my aunty over the weekend and she gave me a box of these to go. Can't lie these go in. I've liked these since I was a kid. Haven't had em in years, real throwback. Nice with a cup of tea

My birthday was the day before Thanksgiving. Two gifts I got was a Stand Mixer and a Waffle Maker. This was my first attempt at making waffles on Saturday

So there are two foods I suck at and need to work on. Biscuits are one of them. I feel like this was my first good batch and I now know how to work the dough. I rolled the dough out too thin. Recipe called for cream cheese. Next time, I'll leave that out and might use shortening

frozen waffles are okay, but a fresh homemade waffle or pancakes is where it's at.

How old is too old for left overs?
Thanksgiving was 4 days ago. 5 if they prepped everything the day before.

They last as long as there's food left. Already froze some dressing, Mac, and greens. I'm good for a month.

Hard cookies?

Worst are those Italian Bakery cookies. I live on Long Island so you can't throw a rock without hitting an Italian bakery. Every patient discharged or transferred from my unit has a family member that brings us those dry-***, chocolate-dipped sand clumps that come from them.

Feel like telling them to save their time and money and just write a nice "thank you" note to the manager.

These two SUCK by themselves....

[SAS] HOWEVA [/SAS]

My wife makes a mean biscoff pie and *whispers* Paula Deen banana pudding using chessmen cookies as a topping/base. But the biscoff is crumbled to make the crust and the chessmen cookies get soft when in the pudding. So, I still maintain that hard cookies are bunk.

*Oreos are pretty much worthless unless soggy from milk....
