Would try all of these. Love trying different foods as long as I'm not allergic to them.

Didn't know pig ears were a food staple. What's the texture and taste like?

Not really a staple for me

That's the only time I eat them.
They are very popular in the South tho.
Used in a variety of ways from sandwiches to high end appetizers at pricy joints

The texture is my favorite part.
The parts near the ear have a pasta like texture but with a bit more chew.
My favorite part is the cartiledge near the inner ear. It's kind of crunchy and chewy at the same time.
The taste is just of the sauce, it's a gravy that has pigs blood in it.

I hear they are really good chopped then fried.

Spent the holidays in NY

Del Friscos (steak and crab cake) my wife took Alf of the steak. The waiter was dope, she gave us free mash potatoes.

The dough was store bought. I’d like to master a good dough. We make our own pizzas because it’s really expensive for a good pizza in Eugene, ~$30 for a large pepperoni.

$30? I should complain less about paying around $20 for a large pie with a topping.

I’ve tried making my own dough 3 times and only once did it come out good and fully cooked. And that’s because I rolled it pretty thin to make a Chicago deep dish (which turned out really good). The other two times parts of the crust weren’t fully cooked but the flavor was nice.

Need to try it again one day

I'm not so sure if I'm a fan of nuts on meat.

Granted, I've only had a chicken dish with peanuts but I did not like that at all.

^^^ You might want to try a couple other dishes. I’ve had Cashew Chicken and Honey Walnut Shrimp from Chinese places that I thought were good...

Yea maybe that was a one time thing.

I just remember thinking
"I don't like this combination at all"

If done right, it's amazing. A lot of Lebanese cooking utilizes pine nuts, and it really enhances some of their dishes.

Obviously not Lebanese, but my mother-in-law makes an amazing Moroccan Bastilla. Ridiculous combination of flavors that works wonderfully.
