FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Running an egg surplus at my house, so I made this egg casserole for dinner. Eggs, cheese, facon, onion and Yellow Bell Pepper.
Seems like a good idea. I’m not much for breakfast during the week but the meal preppers on my timeline keep the egg cups in rotation. Don’t know how I would reheat it though

Valid concern. Between the 3 of us in my family I think it will be gone tonight, so reheating shouldn't be a concern. But if it was, I'd probably do it in the oven or toaster oven since I don't like using the microwave for that.

Honestly can't think of any work occasion/catered event where I thought the food was just awful. (Except for my weird Aunt's wedding, but I don't count that).

I typically lower my expectations when someone else is paying for the food. But that's not the case for everyone. At my old firm, we used to have monthly departmental meetings for which food was provided. The guy in charge of ordering was a staff guy who also did file management. I was cool with him, so he would show me the e-mails he would get from other people *****ing about the free food and they were something else :smh: Giving this guy, who didn't ask for the job and is trying to accommodate a bunch of people, a hard time when they could easily just pay for their own **** and be satisfied. Was a good lesson.
Free food is serious business at the work place ...the food bullies who only want their way with the menu :{

 What the hell kind of burrito is that. Never seen a WET burrito before.

I usually go there and they never let me down

I’m perplexed... you’ve really never seen “wet” burrito? I think that option is standard across America at every Mexican restaurant that isn’t a street taco type place and even some of them offer it.

Eastern ave (DC) It was the “burrito mojado” supposedly wet and spicy but was just trash. Didn’t even eat it all. Guac tasted weird also. Like I said first and last time

How are you suppose to eat a wet burrito? How does it add to the flavor when you can just add it inside?

Fork and knife? Or just hands?

If I eat a burrito my hands are clean still.

Yes fork and knife it’s almost like a spicy enchilada sauce.

Nothing to be perplexed about.

I have never seen a wet burrito.
I have never ordered a wet burrito.
I have never been with anyone that has ordered a wet burrito.
I have never seen anyone order a wet burrito.
I have never noticed a "wet burrito" option on a menu.

WHen I go to Mexican restaurants (very rare), I don't order Burritos since I view that as Tex/Mex food.

When I saw the picture, I thought it WAS an enchilada

Thats not always true. Both tortillas are used for enchiladas. The tortillas are usually fried and dipped in the enchilada sauce, rolled and more sauce added on top. A wet burrito is a burrito just topped with sauce. Also. Wet burritos still have the usually topping and things, but enchiladas usually are just meat and cheese.

Chicken burrito from district taco. First time eating there...won’t be back
District Taco has burritos, I have never heard of anyone ordering one. I get the tacos, coworker use to get the tacos, wife got the tacos, other coworker got the hefe salad.

Concur, what location did you hit up for that District Taco.
I will still hit them up for the tacos.

solewoman solewoman what DT did you go to? That burrito looks AWFUL.

I only mess w/ the ones on Lee Hwy and Old Towne Alexandria. Never had an issue with those two spots.
The one on Lee Hwy the one by Clarenden Metro? They have a lot of food spots over there I have been meaning to try. Small spots that I don't think are franchises but look clean. I worked about 5 mins from the Alexandria one.

You can always tell when people haven't been to the South West or Cali... Wet burritos are pretty common. Unfortunately, here on the east coast especially here in MD, we're to gringo/blanco oriented cuisine.
Haven't been or just haven't been exposed to?

I have been to the West Coast over 10 times in my life. Vegas, PHO, Sd, LA,, TJ, SA, DAL

I was just never exposed to a wet burrito.

Always willing to learn, and I just did that here.

It’s pretty amazing how trash Trump’s palette is for someone who was raised rich in Manhattan...politics aside, he’s just a strange guy...
You can't buy class, when you are trash poor you are trash rich.
Speaking of weird/bad spreads...Whats the worst one y’all had at a function ?

Recently they had sandwiches from some deli at my job...but they somewhow ordered only a few chicken joints and OD’d on the veggie sandwich order...they were dry and dumb small too :smh:

I usually never eat at corporate functions because I am such a picky eater. I tend to eat ahead of time.
From Cali but I don't really do wet food in general, I prefer to decide how wet I want my food to be. Put the sauce on the side in case I don't like the sauce my whole meal isn't ruined.

Based on this post, I assume you aren't a sauced wing enjoyer? Places usually use too much sauce.

Yea, can't trust other people's idea if distribution . Sauce on the side for most things.

Depending on the sauce, wings are naked.

Same approach I would have with fries/ketchup. (If I used ketchup on fries).
