FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Never actually owned a GF grill. When I was in college, someone gave me a different indoor grill thing as a gift, so I just used that. Never really thought about having something like that after I had my own house with a BBQ, a decent range and a full set of pots and and pans.

*Related, and this might be a stupid question, but do East coasters still use outdoor grills in the Winter? Is it even possible?

Interesting take

"For all its enduring popularity, however, no one ever seemed to notice just how ****ty the George Foreman Grill is"

Bringing back memories

Was a ***** to clean, no temperature control for sure, and would always spill the tray filled with fat/grease.

Smoked a turkey breast for Thanksgiving

It waa in the 40s

GF are good for a quick meal, but once you get good at meal prepping you prefer to pay for the cheat meal. I been bussin down 10lb bags of leg quarters but still used it for cravings.

Curry chicken makers

Will it break my dish if I don't marinate the chicken?
I want some now but don't feel like letting it marinate

Nevermind, school is cancelled tomorrow.

I will just make it tomorrow. Marinating it now.

Everything I would use the GF Grill for, I can just cook in a pan. No need to have an extra appliance around.

I just had no clue what I was doing in college, so the GF Grill made sense for me.
This is my general stance. The George Foreman Grill was my first kitchen purchase mostly because I just didn't know how to cook and it seemed easy enough. Used it for about a month before I got bored of the meals I was making and decided I needed to step my game up.

Nonstick is great for eggs and pancakes, but not the greatest surface for just about anything else. I'll stick to my cast iron grill pan.

In the hood we wait till the weather breaks before the grill gets back out...aint nobody getting out there in sub 50 degree weather :lol

How it come out. Mad crispy or crisp with a little chew?

The latter. Crispy on the top and flip-side (because I didn't move the bacon while it was in the oven) was a little chewy but still cooked through. Already planning on making it again this weekend.

Chipotle chips are disgusting, why does it havw that much salt?

I very rarely get Chipotle but I love their chips  .
