FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

yo, that mahi with grits looks bomb. i love gritsXseafood. i make grits and shrimp, scallops with a cayenne, wine and butter sauce almost daily for myself at work. just made it up one day but it needs to be on the menu i tell you.

if anyone want's to make it at home just throw like 3tb of butter in a saute pan with a big pinch of cayenne, when the butter melts throw the shrimp in or whatever you are cooking. sear both sides to get a little color, throw a few ounces of white wine in and poach it the rest of the way and cover till done. then you got a sauce to throw on your seafood and grits. it's technically an etoufee but it's not the standard one you normally see.

omggg best thread on NT.. unfortunately don't have food to post myself but I am a longtime food-porn addict. This thread is relevant to my interests :hat

Who has a good wing recipe? I love wings live every human alive, but never attempted to make them :lol... I'm about to get a deep fryer today too :hat

Hey geuiss i'm trying to master my fish cooking abilities, i have the fried varietys down but cooking in a pan is kinda difficult for some reason. when i cook it always ends up stuck to the pan (i use butter), also i feel it's not cooked wholesomely, the last fish i cooked was tilapia. What are some preps you guys do before cooking and steps you take to ensure you get your taste buds jumpin?

Man Five Guys is good but too expensive for what its worth, just a regular burger and fries. But I cant complain, when I worked at Panda Express, I used to trade free plates everyday with those guys.

Umm. Off the top of my head...

Toulouse Petit is amazing. (Highly recommended)
****'s Drive-In is the "In-N-Out" of Washington.
Shiro's is an amazing sushibar. (Head chef apprenticed with Jiro in Japan.)
Paseo's has great Cuban sandwiches.
Lunchbox Laboratory has great burgers/shakes.
Pike Place Market has tons of hidden restaurants and food stands that are great. (Mini-donuts, Chinese buns, piroshkis, etc.)
