wife whipped this up for me this morning...

we had her family reunion in maryland...went to the Fishermans Wharf in Virginia...

and this was on the 4th in maryland...

Wifey & I ordered some "Japanese" from a local spot. We split these dishes; salad, chicken/beef broth, hibachi steak, & shrimp tempura rolls.

This place makes really good fried rice. I don't know what they use to make that white sauce, but that ish is crack.

breakfast combo (fried catfish, grilled honey cornbread, eggs, potatoes and mac & cheese), the rambo (bacon, cinnamon waffle, roasted potatoes and scrambled eggs, and the cookie (fried chicken and cinnamon waffle) from The Serving Spoon in LA.

bacon lobster roll, albacore poke and mac&cheese, clam chowder and bacon fries, roasted brussel sprouts and broccoli from Pier 76 Fish Grill in Long Beach.

The Gaucho (steak and eggs plate and burger) from EggSlut in LA.

red velvet wonut (waffle donut) and cinnamon roll cronut (croissant donut) at DK Donut's in LA

bratwurst currywurst. (paprika bratwurst with garlic curry sauce and cayenne pepper) and sausage hash from (scharfe kasewurst, roasted potatoes, sauerkraut, fried egg and curry sauce) from Berlin Currywurst

bacon and egg breakfast sandwich and buffalo fried chicken sandwich from Anaheim Packing District in LA.

chocolate chip mint ice cream sandwich from Anaheim Packing District in LA

bacon fried rice, loco moco, and kbbq beef and kalbi ribs with mac salad from The Loft Hawaiian in LA.

chicken & waffles, turkey club sandwich, breakfast burrito (fried eggs, turkey bacon, hash browns, & pepperjack cheese) from the Crave Cafe in LA

How is it?

right!?! i just HAD to try it when i saw it on the menu. it was great!  the OJ tastes pure squeezed (not that processed boxed type of OJ) and it blended really well with the yakult. 

i like it with green tea. bombbb.com

An aside: I know it's not a new trend, but can we stop calling every sandwich served in a baguette roll "banh mi"?


Went against my own judgment and ordered a pork belly banh mi at a gringo restaurant and received pork belly served in a baguette. No pickled carrots/daikon, no pate, no cilantro. Just some weird aioli.

I'm a sucker for the buttered noodles at N&C.  Threw some porkschops on the grill too using a marinade recipe from the All Recipes app.  Not bad.    Peace.

Went to Blue Ribbon Sushi last night.

They make GREAT fried chicken with a wasabi honey sauce. Forgot to take pics.

Oxtail and Bone Marrow Fried Rice is bonkers too. Have some left over that I'll try to post later.

Anyway, my son did what he loves to do. Peel a banana and then decide he doesn't want to eat it.

So made a Peanut Butter/Banana/Honey sandwich.

Kind of like "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade", but different.
