If that’s the guy’s favorite spot, shouldn’t he have known better than to go there in a snow storm? Feel like I’ve learned enough about Jamaican/Caribbean spots just from NT to know that would be a highly risky move.

Never had a garbage plate, but I’d give one its day in court.

Had Utica greens when I was up in Ithaca. Couldn’t tell if the restaurant just salted the living **** out of them unintentionally or if they’re always that salty.

Doesn't really pique my interest, though I'm sure they taste ok

I’m a fan of savory pie dishes. Probably my part-Irish heritage.

Went to a spot that had oxtail shepherds pie and other Jamaican inspired dishes. I didn't get the pie cause it was one of those hipster spots and it was my first time there. I'm sketchy about them selling certain things, but what I did get was flavorful. If I go back there, I may chance it and order it.

Some things work, some don't, but cultures coming together and creating new meals is great to me. Damn near everything we hold as traditional now was a fusion.

They do a short rib pot pie that looks pretty damn good.
