FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Want to go on a hardcore NYC pizza tour but my daughter doesn't care for pizza and her mother is always tied up with work.

If you like spicy & seafood, you should try jjampon. A very spicy seafood noodle soup. Its so spicy, in traditional Korean spots it's served in a clay bowl & comes out sizzling. They also give you a towel to wipe your self with bcs it's so spicy you'll sweat like crazy. It will completely clear your sinuses & unclog your hearing. Sometimes its unclogged my hearing when I didn't realize it was clogged...

Where can I get it locally?

I’m intrigued.

Seen something like this at Nak Won on 20th st...and im sure you can find it out Ellicott City too with all the Korean spots out there
Yeah my office is right down the street from all those spots in EC. I’ve just never been. Feel like I need to go with some Korean folks so they can walk me through the menu and what I should get.

That dish reminds me of this.

Salty's: Seattle: https://www.yelp.com/biz/saltys-seattle-4?hrid=JWjpivfMpKDrcnDy-mIxaw

Food: I got the Cioppino, that is usually my go to meal when I am in these cities close by the water. Salmon, Crab, Clams, all of it. It was a good dish, and it will fill you up. I wish it were a little spicier but I could have added some red pepper flakes; that is what I would do next time.

Workers: Good service here, no complaints. I would imagine the workers getting tired of being asked to take SO many pictures but that is why they get the guaranteed contracts.

Atmosphere: Just look at the pictures others have posted to get a taste of the vibe. It is right on the water and should be one of the spots you go to for Dinner in the Seattle

Truth be told, I haven't had it in a loooong time. :frown: I've been waxing poetic about it for a while now. The regular Korean spots I used to frequent back in the day are no longer around. There was a spot in Towson I loved (across the street from the library). There was also a place on corner of N Charles, the No Da Ji that's been closed for a while. Venturing to Ellicott City is a haul for me...

I've heard Nak Won has it but not sure how good it is. Also heard a great place is Tian Chinese & Korean in Glen Burnie that makes it's own noodles but lately I've heard horror stories about the Korean wait staff there (You go now...). >D:lol::smh:

If you find a place, post about it. If you go with your wife, I'd recommend getting that & also another black bean noodle dish called jja jang myun. This noodle dish can have seafood but it's typically served with either just vegetables or ideally with bits of skirt steak. Although typically not spicy, some authentically Korean spots will offer a spicy version.

You know any other good buffets in Charleston?
My dad loves buffets, wanna try a new one for his bday.

I know of some but I may have missed a few.

Hubee D’s. Does he like Brunch? Sunday Brunch buffets are plentiful. Never been but I’ve heard nothing but good things about Cowboy Brazilian steak house
