FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Ramadan Day 6. Hit up Richmond Hill neighborhood for today's grub. Pizza from Alfie's & some Guyanese fare from Singh's on Liberty Avenue. I watched a video year's ago where Action Bronson was choppin it up at Alfie'a & said the Sicilians here are legendary.

That same video popped up in my head recently & I figured let today be the day for me to try. I got the regular, veggie Sicilian, Upside down Sicilian, grandma Sicilian & spinach pinwheel. My brother got the large pie which was only $15. Prices are very fair here. All my stuff also came out to be $15.

Philouri, doubled, spinach from Singh's, which also, btw, is super affordable. 3 doubles for $4.50.

The straw is made out of raw spaghetti. Once my son found out it took a big chomp.

Copenhagen Coffee Lab:
They put the tea sachet together when you place your order. Thought this was cool. We got Earl Grey and Mint.

Man the little chocolate chip cookies from McD's are great. If them little tik tokers want to claim it's just Walmart cookies, then tell me exactly what they are so I can buy them.

There's no way the carnivore diet is healthy, right?
Right?
Like, NO plants/nuts/beans. Meat ONLY.

There’s a ranching couple I follow on TikTok that are doing it

He’s lost 18lbs over a few weeks and she’s lost 12lbs

Someone asked about their bowel movements they said they’re fine no issues

From a “health” standpoint it’s probably not a good idea given the lipid / levels situation over time but for a weight loss / calorie deficit idea I think it works well for most

It's mostly a tool vs a lifestyle. Don't know the long term effects, but basically like keto or fasting, the intent is to get your body fat adapted and burning fat. The protein gives a feeling of fullness too. (I don't do it).
