Absolutely thee greatest show that I've ever seen.

If anyone likes great stories, a little bit of action here and there, and fantastic characters/music, then I implore you to check out Fullmetal Alchemist  Brotherhood.

never got around to watching this. I watched cowboy bebop, that other one with the guy wearing a red suit, and some other ones. I wanted to start evangelion, but Im too lazy:tongue:

I think that this might be helpful to some people.
I had heard a bit about Fullmetal Alchemist, and I had become really interested in watching it. One day I was surfing netflix, and I came across the original series, so I decided to give it a shot. Now at that time I wasn't aware of Brotherhood, and I had no knowledge of peoples bias towards it over the original series. Even if I had, I probably would've watched the original series first anyways.

So there I was, a few episodes in, and I had fallen in love. There was humor, sadness, amusement; it was a rollercoaster of awesomeness. By then I had done some more research online and I had began to hear more and more about Brotherhood. At first I was interested, I knew eventually I had to see it. Then I started to almost resent people just raving about, and giving no love to the original series I was falling in love with. After a while I had to stop visiting this subreddit all together, because it was just a non-stop mine field of spoilers, and I didn't my opinion of Brotherhood clouded any more. All I knew was that it was awesome, but I didn't want to get too swept up in the hype of it all. I mean, how awesome could it be? surely they couldn't have out done the original series that much, could they?

Fast forward, I finish Fullmetal Alchemist and the following movie, and eagerly waited for my chance to see Brotherhood. Now, I'm kinda wary about just watching things online, so I figured I'd buy it when I had the chance. But whenever I had money the store was sold out, and when I was broke they always seemed to have it. It was taunting me. Finally I gave in, and pulled it up online.

The first few episodes, it followed the same general storyline as the original series, and I remember sitting there almost smugly thinking that it wasnt really any better than original, and people were just crazy. A few more episodes in I started seeing the changes in story, but not only that, I also started seeing the level of character development they had put into Brotherhood that just wasn't there in the original. Their emotions were more intense, and therefore so were mine. I also saw how much more the relationships were built up over time, and I was eager to see how it all turned out.

Finally I was into the meat of the story, far past anything that had been in the original, and my opinion of Brotherhood was that it was the greatest thing I had ever seen. When I reached the finale, and the last of the credits rolled by, I just sat there with a deep sense of completion. The original left me wanting more, but Brotherhood had the right amount of everything, and I just felt "whole" at the end. I remember looking down at my DVDs of the original series and thinking that I would never be able to watch it again. I had been so obsessed with Fullmetal Alchemist when I first saw it, and all the times after that, but now that I had finally seen Brotherhood there was no way I could go back to the original.

I'm not sure what else I can say. Do I regret watching the original series? Honestly, no I don't. Would I recommend it to other people, yes I would. Just watch the original first, then Brotherhood. I hope people find this review helpful, and I hope there are other people out there who feel the same way.

TL;DR watched the original series, loved it. Watched brotherhood, loved it more.

.

And all the episodes are on hulu

One of my favorite series of all time! I still have the final episode saved on my DVR from last year lol.

i watched like half of it when brotherhood initially came out in 09 ( subbed), but I went back a few months ago and downloaded the entire series dubbed. Its 1 of my all time favorites. As for the ending, I kinda like the original and brotherhood. I liked conquerors of shamballa, with the whole inclusion of real world Germany

I enjoyed both but the first one will always be my favorite. It was way more emotional and story driven imo than brotherhood.

watched first one and read half the manga. WIll continue manga and watch this later. I hear its a lot better than the original but nostalgia might make me disagree

I did appreciate FMA for that as well. Having a compressed storyline and less humor than Brotherhood made the story and the characters sink in deeper imo. It came off darker, I'm always a fan of that

but there's plenty of things Brotherhood brought that FMA didnt for me too

Love both shows in their own regard. Appreciated

I remember me and my brother sneaking around back in the day to stay up to watch the original Full Metal Alchemist on Adult Swim

My top 5
1. Yu Yu Hakusho
2. Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory
3. Rurouni Kenshin
4. Cowboy Bebop
5. Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood

Brotherhood had better opening songs than the original in my opinion

to everyone who enjoyed Fullmetal Alchemist or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhod has the best soundtrack that I've ever heard.

The composer of this OST is Senju Akira.

He also did compositions for Tales of Vesperia.

If you liked Brotherhood's soundtrack then I'm sure that you'll like Tales of Vesperia's soundtrack.

Here's some dope tracks.
