FX' Fargo Sunday 10PM ET : Season 4 Episode 8 "The Nadir" Starring Chris Rock 11/08/20

Was it a reach?  Sure... but it seemed as though it was a conscious decision.

At least there isn't any doubt about it.  That's what the writers wanted us to know.

Well it's also what I'd call a bad decision as well.

I mean seriously Hanzee devouring shrimp and then he gets killed.

:{

Hanzee did say he was tired of his life that he was leading. 20-30 years can easily change a guy.

I need a Hanzee vs Mulligan vs Timetraveling Malvo via alien spaceship mexican standoff.
I guess we don't really need a time machine afterall.

Lol true

It's a reach by the writers, not the audience. That's def what they meant. It would mean that he basically got taken out by a younger version of himself. Not hard to imagine he got caught slipping 20 to 30 years later. I don't really think it was needed but whatever.

And what he basically kidnapped the deaf kid and his bro lol. It felt a but forced.

Not much of a change.

Went from foot solider/enforcer/killer to mob boss.
I saw it more of being him tired of being seen as a "halfie" or an "injin". Basically stopped wanting to be the low man on the totem pole based on his race and appearance (pun intended).

By him cutting his long hair, he was basically saying he wanted to shed his indian heritage. Probably brought on from all the taunting from the Gerharts and the people at the bar.

It's a reach...but not far. The Moses Tripoli guy in S1 is pretty tan....and speaks in the same speaking pattern as hanzee. Very short and direct with his words.

Hanzee becoming a fat guy, who is able to be taken down by Malvo 30 yrs after isn't out the question.

S3 about the transformation, Mike and the Solverson's might be interesting!

The reach is huge to me just off how that guys look, accepting plastic surgery was that good in the 80s, to me he isn't that tan, etc. Especially when you consider Hanzee's skin color.

Regardless, I don't understand making Hanzee that guy given what happens to him in S1. It's such a weird conclusion to his story.

I'd have to say we're asking two different questions man. You talking about speaking patterns but son didn't have the presence or intimidation level of Hanzee. He wasn't imposing or threatening.

But it's w/e, I think it's a reach and it wasn't a good decision. I like the idea of making Hanzee somebody else but they should've just saved that character for a future season.

Well the whole becoming a white man and him being tired of that I can understand. He knows he won't get anywhere in the world being what he is. That's a whole other depressing can of worms though.

It's not THAT hard to reach that fargo is set in a world where plastic surgery is at a very high level. I mean this is a show with UFO's lol.

But i don't love the idea. Don't hate it either. Just seems a bit unnecessary. The lou and that other detective and mollie connection was enough imo

I want more milligan

:lol I wasn't trying to go through mental gymnastics to accept it. I just didn't like it much or the conclusion for the character in retrospect.

If ppl liked that connection/reveal that's fine.

I just remembered the youngest gerhart( the one dudes son) still locked up ,he probly gon show up in season 3

I won't even compare the 2 seasons..both are great

Peggy and fat todd were being savage in a nice way.

The way Peggy kept stabbing dodd like it was no big deal was so cold-blooded.
