Giving Tip for Delivery?

If you're tipping $20 on a $300 bill, you probably shouldnt be eating out in the first place. That's just wrong....smh.

Why?? Just because it's more expensive doesn't mean the waitor/waitress necessarily did more work. $20 for a table of 2 who was there 30 minutes is a good tip. You can spend close to 3 bills easy somewhere like Ruth Chris for a party of 3 or even 2 if you have drinks. If you wait at AppleBee's, Denny's, Chili's caliber places, I'm sure they'd be offended at the notion people at nicer places automatically deserve more for the same work.

If you get the same service at Ruth Chris as at Denny's you're either going to a terrible Ruth Chris or an amazing Denny's

Wtf .. You think 30 minutes at Applebee's that render a $300 dollar bill is easy? You know how much food or people you have to served? Come on ....

Smh ...

Shoudnt of said Applebees, just wrote that cause thats what other duke said, bad example.

But anyways.

I double the tax usually. Always considered myself a good tipper, but if im with one other person on a date or whatever and my bill is $200, im gonna tip $20-$30 max, regardless of tax. Im not trying to break my wallet, and if you say I shoudnt of gone there, oh well. :lol

Y'all are some funny dudes

Bunch of selfish *** holes. Yall should identify more with Republicans than you do. Lmao at gravity though, cmon bruh, tell me that was autocorrect.

That aintvwt
You carried food from the kitchen to the table though, let's not act like it's backbreaking labor you were being sentenced too at the hand of the customer. The chef would have the most right to be upset in that hypothetical, but I was talking about "nice" restaurants where a $300 or more bill between 2 to 4 people is common place for just an appetizer, entree, and drink.
Right! i never understand why people tip so much for no reason

The most i will tip is 10% and that is if your going beyond service for me

If you dont do jack but bring me my food then i dont leave tips

If the bar is not packed and you make me a drink or get me a beer, im not tipping, for what? doing your job

say if my bill is $30 I wont tip anything, it all depends if that waiter put in work and kept my drink refilled and table clean

$$$$ doesnt equal more in tips.. Service equals more, not future service, the service im getting now

Now one time we had a group of 6 with 3 kids, waiter was dealing with alot and put the tables together for us. She was quick. Our bill probably came to $60. I left a $10 tip which is more then enough

WTF im going to tip for you doing you job

The worse ones are the ones that drive the nice Porsches, Benzs, Aston Martins, and don't tip a single dollar, I hate those people the most.

I tip my barber. cut and line is 15, just give him an even $20

when me and my girl go out for date night, if the service is great... waiter/waitress getting $20 regardless of how much the meal was (usually $30 or less). if the service was buns, no tip

however, I'm not ok with the thought of someone messing with my food because of how much a tip was or wasn't. nobody tips upfront for service so people shouldn't go messing with your food cause they think you won't tip or automatically get bad service cause of hearsay. waiter/waitress need to do their best damb job every time if they want good tips.

You can tell the people that never had to work food service before

You tip them well because their job sucks, many customers are awful and their wages suck

Inb4 get a better job - they wish they could especially after dealing with some of y'all

Why do y'all act like people have to tip? And then if they do tip, people complain about how cheap the tip was :lol can't win

Serious question, not necessarily to you, but to all the non-tippers in here.

Did your Mom/Dad ever teach you about the social expectations of dining out, or were your Mom/Dad non-tippers as well?
My parents always tip and I do as well. I just dislike the feeling of HAVING to do it and if I don't I risk someone pissing in my food.

We've all known someone that has worked at mcdonalds before. None of them enjoyed it. What did they do? They got another job.

And I tip but that whole "They knew it was **** pay and work but they took it anyways so you should help them out because shutup." argument is stupid.

Wait so do people still not understand tips are shared between bar backs, bussers, expo workers and on some occasions cooks? And the wage in Texas for servers is like 2.13.

nah famb, thats an excuse. EVERYBODY job sucks. If you work in the food service industry you are expected to provide good service. period.

Customers are awful and suck in every industry. I worked in toy department at walmart, I couldn't give customers bad customer service cause they had an attitude or their kids were bad. You do your best regardless of the situation because that's the expectation.

Usually u get ur food before you tip, doe. If someone was gonna piss in it, they'd do it before you shelled out your cash.

The economy sucks. You have college graduates stuck in these jobs.

I know I'm fortunate so I have no issue helping the less fortunate especially when they provide me with a service

You don't have to and you risk nothing the initial visit

If the service sucks where you don't want to to tip, don't tip and don't go back bc of poor service

NT waiters have admitted to deciding if you "look like" you will tip them well or not when they first see youand messing with your food (at the least letting it get cold on purpose) as a result. And that's the most mild, we have had everything from cats talking about ejaculating in pizza, rubbing their feet in it, putting nuts on dudes' water bottles, hacking loogies, putting things in your food that you asked not to just to be dbags, etc. They usually pop up in these threads too if not just the tipping threads. Outside of tipping you got barbers zeeking dudes on purpose, valets dinging cars, delivery eating out of your order, just infinite douchebaggery with these "service" employees.

And there is NO problem with this. Actually, I should say, I have no problem with it.

My issue is with people not wanting to tip just because....

You at least got paid minimum wage

And my job is way better than a food service job so no everyone's job doesn't suck

I made more than minimum wage but that's not the point. If you are in any sort of service postion, you need to provide good service regardless of the pay. You supposed to do a good job because that what you are supposed to do, not because of some potential reward for doing your job.

Bingo. What world do y'all live in where you want a treat after doing what you're supossed to do? Lol

When your check depends on those rewards or you being able to pay your bills.
