Giving Tip for Delivery?

Usually u get ur food before you tip, doe. If someone was gonna piss in it, they'd do it before you shelled out your cash.
I'm not talking about restaurants I'm talking about delivery.

You don't have to and you risk nothing the initial visit

If the service sucks where you don't want to to tip, don't tip and don't go back bc of poor service
What if the reason I don't want to tip doesn't have to do with poor service? Or if I decide to give 10% instead of 20%, I shouldn't feel like I can't go back to that restaurant.

-Feels obligated to tip to overcompensate for my "people" who don't tip :lol

-To ensure they won't mess with my food next time :{

Never felt like tipping just because ..

People expect to be tipped a certain amount whether or not they provide good service. In an ideal world you should be able to choose whether or not you tip and how much you tip without any repercussions. Unfortunately, the UNITED STATES is far from ideal. Expect to be treated based on how you tip.

Tipping isn't commonplace in Europe

Things I've learned from this thread

- If you have a shoe collection, receive bad service at a restaurant, and choose not to tip on a bill, your parents raised a cheap bum

- If an employer chooses to pay sub minimum wage as a means to increase revenue by keeping company costs down, that's a company being smart and other people's responsibility to compensate their underpaid staff

- Not tipping makes you cheap, but the employer not paying the employee is good business

- Not tipping means you couldn't afford the experience

- Tipping is socially mandatory

- People lie about the frequency of their fine dining experiences

Wait so do people still not understand tips are shared between bar backs, bussers, expo workers and on some occasions cooks? And the wage in Texas for servers is like 2.13.
maybe in Texas only but im sure.most places don't share tips unless its family ran

You forgot,

-The people who work there have no other choice

- they are all struggling and one bad tip away from starving

come on famb. Patrons talk just like waiter/waitress do. If you provide good service every time, even if that person don't tip they might recommend some who does. Waiter/waitress know what they sign up for when they take the job so good service should be first and foremost regardless.

If you not built for that food service life and don't have the integrity to do right by your guest (even if they don't tip) do your best to get out the industry.

Their iphones aren't going to pay for themselves. It's your duty to lend a helping hand.

SRS question, how many of you none tippers go to the strip club?

And for what? I mean is not like you are tipping as the stripers are just doing their job.

Everyone needs A job at some point. You don't need THAT job. And where are you getting that stat? Sounds like complete BS

You think somebody wants to take a job that pays 2-4 dollars an hour plus tips on the odd chance that Johnny depp comes in and drops 50k on them ? They take that job because that is the only viable option at the time. For instance I work in the oilfield ,it dudes out here roughnecking with bachelor degrees and doctorates because this was the only thing they could find . I know for damn sure they don't want or like being here but it's was the only option for them in the past when they looked for other work and presently since they're employed here.

For some people the service industry is all they got .

I know a few people who only wants to work in the food industry cause they don't like waiting for pay checks. Depending on where you waiter/waitress you can make some good money (casino buffets for example).

That's true as well but I think we are talking in general for most servers. I don't think people willing apply to work at waffle house unless they can't find anything else.

Pretty sure strippers don't file taxes. Btw the wings and fries @ Sin City taste like heaven on a platter.

My lord just stop.

How many of the non-tippers have worked in the service industry?

I'm not anti tip but I have a strict personal tipping policy regarding restaurant service and yes, I worked as a server for 3 months. I didn't like it and became a software engineer making about 5 times more a month.

It wasn't easy but I put in the work I needed to in order to get into a better situation.

I always forget I force the people working at restaurants to remain employed there.

these people need to stop being poor and take control of their lives

and if they cant they, should just starve. not our fault their choices are limited and doing what they can to survive
