GOAT Talk

LeBron is so great that people have now started to try to use longevity as a knock as if he’s crawling past these records.

At no point in any sports history has longevity became a bad thing until now

1. This convo isn't about him being the greatest of all time. It's about him being clear cut above Kobe.

2. Let's touch on your point. So is NOT getting to the finals better than losing in the finals? Since we are pretending losing in the finals is such a huge disqualifier.

Lebron gonna go to okc? He needs to lol

Downplaying Scottie is crazy

Some counter-notes to this Jordan stan's undercover Pippen hate propaganda video he lures you in by trying to be objective at the start:

- The only reason Jordan even had a 1-9 record in the playoffs without Scottie Pippen is because it was damn near impossible to miss the playoffs in the early to mid 80s, including making the playoffs directly with a 30-52 record, like the Bulls did in 1985-86. So Jordan's 1-9 playoff record comes with an asterisk. Because in any other era it would've been a 0-0 record and he never would've even made the playoffs without Pippen to begin with.

- In 1986-87, a third season 24 year-old, career high 37.1 ppg averaging Michael Jordan had a losing record and in the standings finished below an Indiana Pacers team whose best player by far and leading scorer (18.8 ppg) by a significant margin was a 22 year-old rookie Chuck Person. Not only did that Indiana Pacers team consist of nothing but role players who weren't all-stars that season, but it only had players who never had a single all-star selection in their whole careers. Here's a game for you - Try finding a roster of any team throughout history who consists of players who were NEVER once all-stars in their careers. It's way harder than you think. Yet the 1986-87, Jordan-led Bulls finished below such a team. The following season, the Bulls got Pippen and Grant and the rest is history.

By the way, in 1986-87 Jordan's teammate Chares Oakley averaged 14.5 points, 13.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Only Charles Barkley was averaging those numbers at that time, and they wouldn't get averaged again until Kevin Garnett in the 2000s.

- The 1993-94 Bulls had a 55-27 record with Pippen playing 72 games that season.
The 1992-93 Bulls had a 57-25 record with Pippen playing 81 games.
In other words, the 1993-94 Bulls would've literally had a better record than the previous year with Jordan had Pippen played the same amount of games.

-The 1993-94 Knicks the Bulls lost to were better than any Knicks team Jordan faced in the 90s, and was lucky enough to dodge that particular season. They had 3 all-stars and all other 90s Knicks teams only had 1 all-star. And the Bulls lost that series on a questionable call that would've never been called if they had Jordan on the roster. Jordan was also lucky to dodge facing Hakeem in the finals, against whom the first 3-peat Bulls had a 0-6 record in their 3 91-93 championship seasons.

-In the 2001-02 and 2002-03, 39 and 40 year-old Jordan Wizards seasons, the east's #1 seeds had 52 and 50 win seasons, which are THE lowest and second lowest amount of wins (not counting shortened seasons) for a #1 seed in the post-1979 3-point line era. Yet a Pippen-less Jordan failed to make the playoffs both of those seasons. Reminder: A 41 year-old LeBron just single-handedly won a playoff series with an injury-plagued roster consisting of nothing but journeyman role players.
