Going on a carnival cruise - who's been on one?

Reading this thread has reignited the bug to book a cruise soon. It also got me into looking into the other types of cruises I'd like to take.

One day my wife and I will have enough time in on the job to take a month off of work and do a week or so of canal cruising in England http://www.rose-narrowboats.co.uk I was looking this up and it's right up my idea of what I'd like to do for a week.

So whats the best cruise line for someone in their mid 20's? My boy goes on carnival all the time but with his parents and it seems like its geared towards older people..

depends on what places you'd want to go, as not all cruises go to the same ones. i'd say check out royal caribbean's allure of the seas, it's their newest ship and looks like there's so much to do.

What's up NT fam?
I'm getting married on October 26 and taking a cruise for our honeymoon. Were going thru carnival and our ship is the carnival paradise. It's a 5 day cruise to the carribean, we're stopping at the cayman islands and Cozumel Mexico. Wanted to know if anyone on here has been on one. And if you could let me know how it went.. Any advice.. Things I should bring etc.

Carnival

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Unless you have kids DO NOT GO. Carnival is for families with kids.

Go Royal Carribean or someone else

Idk how I'd feel about being stuck on the boat for 2-3 days straight... though I do want to try it out at some point

ll you wont even think about that. its not scary at all. you feel 100% safe. Only scary thing is when u on the balcony outside and feel like someone can wak behind and throw you overboard

soon as i got on it my first time i was excited.

i wanna go on a cruise but i know i aint gon be able to sneak weed or smoke on the boat. would i be able to get weed cookies or brownies onto the ship?

yeah that should be easy.

WHOEVER is thinking about going on a cruise go on it if you havent already. Its fun. but to be honest it gets boring at times. The countries you go you gotta be cautious at all times.

Me and my cousin we were 17 and 15. We were trying to get in the club every day and we would mess wih the guards at the doors. Everyday. We pissed them off. We would go to the casinos and get kicked out too. But we still went in there everyday   we snuck in the club on day and we was shook.

Met some girls from Brooklyn. They were ratchet chicks. We were 17 and 15 and these chicks were mid - late 20's.. :smokin .. we were tryna **** them too. since there were no other females on that cruise. But they werent down to F :frown:

No females on that cruise. If your going for females think again. You might end up on a cruise like i did with no ******* my age. There were a few from like philly. but they were butt. I dont mess with females with weave. Idk though. Maybe i was too young at that time and thought all the chicks who were liek 23 were 30's.

But yeah go to the shows. Eat breakfast. Workout early because gym not opened til late. Eat lunch. Eat dinner at the restaurants and dress up. Run around the track and get your cardio in. The basketball hoop was weak. The mini gold was cool but it got windy for me. The rooms your never in them. The showers are cold. Didnt see bugs. It gets pretty packed early i the morning with people by the pool and people eating.

Its worth it to try it because its a whole new experience. Other than that idk if its something i can do every year.

I had 3 outfits on per day. First was gym clothes. I rocked that to breakfast. I would than go back and shower and wear my reg clothes until time to eat @ night at the restaurant. I would change to dressup clothes and change back to my reg clothes for the night.
pizza was ate at night.

edit: i forgot we met these 2 white girls from Ohio. We tried to bring them to our room because we had L and they stood us up. Dumb broads didnt even know where Boston was. "Is that like near new york?" smh.

Maybe because I was just 17 and wasnt allowed to do anything but I've been on Carnival and Royal multiple times

Carnival is for familys. Everything is family unless you are 21 and can spend time at the car/club/internals of your significant other

Royal is for fun :smokin Fist HJ/BJ on the Front of the ship looking at the sea :smokin . If their are families on Royal they are usually older kids 15+

Canival is eveyrbody

Went on a Carnival cruise to Ensenada, Mexico a few years back, it wasn't too bad for a first cruise.  I'm sure the ships are better now because there was no night clubs when I went

.  To be honest, I don't remember much from that cruise.  Royal Caribbean was 10xs better, went on a cruise to the Bahamas.   The buffet was free, there were more activities, like basketball, tennis, and rock climbing, and the room was nicer...

^Agreed. Royal Caribbean is cool, Norwegian Dawn was good too since they have a lot of choices for restaurants I can't say those brands are definitely better than Carnival since I was younger at the time. The only Carnival cruise I've been on was the Imagination and I think that's one of their smaller ships.

Also, if anyone wants to bring liquor on board without having to use empty mouthwash bottles or whatever was suggested, check out http://www.camocaps.net/
Poland Spring bottles are good money for clear and Nestea bottles good for the dark liqs :smokin

those are probably the best way to get things on board, hide them in your toiletries kit or wear them when boarding and you should be good.

I found that if you get on the ship when a big crowd is boarding from port they won't check you then either, I refilled my wet bar that I'd ordered early when we stopped at Nassau

Last cruise I went on (before I was married, about 5 years ago...) was with Princess Cruises...it was fun, but I was with some family. It's better to go with a big group of friends, but since your married, you're not going to care about partying all too much.

Man this thread just reminded me...when I was on that cruise, there was this BANGING blonde who worked as a waitress in the casino. I think she was from Romania or something  So I would always tip her really well whenever she would bring me a drink, she would flirt off and on with me the entire week on this cruise. So it was one of the last nights and it was getting late, not too many people left in casino, which was about to close for the night and I hear this waitress' manager (ugly looking female) yelling at her, telling her she needs to report ALL of her tips and that she must have pocketed some of it. Now, at this point, I'm REALLY hammered and I look at the manager and say "Your just jealous that shes gorgeous and gets more tips than you"...The manager turns her anger to me and goes off on me telling me to mind my own business, blah blah blah. I get up laughing and get ready to leave. I head out to the deck for a smoke and it wasn't even 5min and this waitress (bruh, she was so fine!) comes outside and apologizes for her boss. I tell her its okay and I didn't mean to get her in trouble even more. She says "No, you were right, that's why she hassles me all the time, she must be jealous or something..." Anyways, she tells me she's off work the next day and I ask if she wants to get a drink or something by the pool tomorrow. :pimp:

There's more to the story :pimp: but I won't waste yall time. This post just brought me back and man did I have fun on that cruise.

is that right? on Princess? every cruise I've been on they have strict policy against fraternization, they don't allow the crew and guests to interact, like at all, besides hello's and good afternoons. And you talking about trying to kick it with her by the pool loll. I mean if she was like an entertainer or a worker in the stores on the ship, sure, because they get free run of the ship, but stewards and waitresses and cooks, they play by a totally different rulebook. hmm. whatever. that's cool. glad you had fun

Damn its basically on Carnival out of Los Angeles now, Royal Caribbean abandoned the Pacific Coast. The Norwegian cruises seem like something for 40+ Caucasian couples, can anyone speak on this?
