My boss took us out to nyc for a broadway play and after that to eat dinner. And today one of my co workers walks up to me and asks me if I'm going to enter that as billable time to get paid for it? Since she says she knows a few others that will enter it as billable time..we were out from 12pm to 8pm

At first I didn't even think about entering it as time...but now I don't know if it's wrong or right? I mean, he did pay for everything..I'm leaning towards not entering the time...

Your opinions ?

you want to get paid for getting taken out to a show and dinner? i wouldnt do it. let your co-workers ask for the billable time while there doing that you go to your boss and thank him for the show and dinner.

Of all the greedy, grimy, disgusting, ungrateful... Anyone who does that, i hope the bad things in life happen to you, and only you.

Do you mean that if ya'll didn't go out to the play and to dinner, you would have worked and been paid for it?
What's your normal workday?  Until 5 or 6?

I'd think it's billable time until the end of your workday at least.  So like 12-5.

Edit:  We have no way to know how your job works or what your boss is like.  Rather than assume one way or another and end up possibly shortchanging yourself, I'd just ask the boss.

is this a small company or a large one?..is the boss the owner?...thus by putting it down as billable time, would you be double dipping into his pockets?
