Chip is from the East Coast. He is now on the west coast in Eugene. You and me both know Eugene is not a destination city. Florida, although not the NE, is on the east coast and it is probably one of the top jobs in college football. What Chip has done at Oregon is great, but he has no ties to the school or the area and U of O is no Florida. I think the only thing in Oregon's favor here is Phil Knights check book, because I would be willing to bet Florida would sell some cash out for him. Do you not think so? What makes you think he will stay? Even if he does win a NC at Oregon, what else is there to really do for him with the program?

Maybe b/c he coached under Spurrier. Maybe b/c Foley has gone after him the last 2 times we've had coaching vacancies. Maybe b/c after 2001 "Big Game Bob" hasn't won that many big games lately. I don't know if it would be any different or have any validity this time, but the circumstances are definitely different from 2002 and 2005. Bob could have whatever he wanted down here and be in the most fertile recruiting bed in the country, save for maybe Texas. The Big XII contracting to only 10 teams may make OU's road to the nat'l title may be easier now though. You'd be crazy to think that Stoops wouldn't pick up the phone when a top 3 job opens suddenly like this.
And if Urb goes to Denver, it pretty much confirms that Tebow plays for the other team (and I ain't talking bout football).

People really think Chip Kelly would leave Oregon? He has it made in a conference where no one at the moment is on the same level as Oregon and their biggest threat in USC is about to start feeling the effects of their sanctions.
I've never understood the fascination that UF has with Bob Stoops. The guy would get his +*@* pushed in, in the SEC.
