Zoos are useless and serve no purpose.
I dont have kids, so maybe it'll be hard for me to understand that logic. But is the child old enough to understand reason, or the concept of good or bad? If not, couldn't you just not take them?
you know theres also animal conservatories people can visit right?this is where we're going now? Zoo's are da only way many millions of people get to appreciate nature firsthand.
da real problem is all these anthropomorphic cartoon talking animals got people thinking these beings are somehow above empathy of that our own Human kind.

I do and I don't care to be honest.
whats sad is that a lot of adults don't realize this.
you know theres also animal conservatories people can visit right?
but the type of response we get is the imbecilic jargon like dude above or ninjahood. And how many nature docs have been made? Explaining the animals in better fashion then any zoo ever could. We don't have to put every animal through misery to appreciate them.
I enjoy watching these animals in their own habitat, behaving the way nature intended. Much more exciting but I guess I'm in the minority on NT.
you're mentioning asian again. where do you prefer your sweatshops? american?
I do and I don't care to be honest.
It's funny where ya'll choose to be disgusted.
Asians sweatshops, so you won't buy clothes.
Blood diamonds so I guess your wives ring will be plastic.
Oil funding terrorism so you don't use heat or drive a car.
Yes we realize a lot of these animals would be better off in nature. That's not entertaining.
Quick to use events like this as your soapbox but I ain't buyin it
I bet ya'll swore off meat when that whole farming cruelty outraged popped off didn't you?
None of yall hopping in the damn gorilla pit b unless you trying to take that L
So you would rather watch your own child get ripped apart?
1) My child would never be in a gorilla pit in the first place
2) A human cannot fight a gorilla straight up. No sense in two lives being lost

not everyone on NT is from the Bronxcompared to Zoo's thats a 5 min trip away from mass transit or a car ride?
free admission days in da Bronx Zoo for a school field trip >*
let's not act like that Cincinnati tragedy wasn't anything more than a fluke accident...
Zoo's serve a great purpose for da general public and are more accessible that conservatories.
Its rare that I see parents speak to their kids with reason and logic. I usually just see frustration and the eventual iPad getting thrown in the kids lap lol.
What do ya'll do for a living?Majority is brought up on a weekly dose of disney movies that anthropomorphize every animal ever created. Jungle book just came out recently and it looks real as hell. Kids eat that **** up and fiend to go to the zoo because of it. On top of that, there is a disconnect where adults don't believe they're animals in the least bit. They could never picture themselves having to live in a zoo. It's all entertainment to all parties. They could care less that some of these animals need anti depressants.

Stop. Ain't nobody saying these animals are benevolent.
But the fact that you just compared living in a cage/enclosure to nature is absurd.
Experiencing a zoo is not experiencing nature.
but people shouldn't settle for it. never settle.to you, for millions of people who visit da zoos, its da closet thing they have to experiencing nature.
You Asian?

I'm an LMFT. What do you do?
More so.I dont think I made any general statement in what I said. I said something relating to my own experience. But since you want to go that route; https://www.theguardian.com/technol...esearch-smartphones-damage-social-development
You telling me you dont know parents who do that? Also, if a parent isn't around to teach a kid what is real and what isn't on television, the child will not know the difference.
From reading this and your last post, is your main gripe more so about the hypocrisy in what people choose to morally concerned about?
There it is
but people shouldn't settle for it. never settle.
you're the one who keeps mentioning asian.
You Asian?
