I always smh at people who say stuff like this "it only affects you if you let it. If you're consciously listening, it already has some type of grasp on your psyche. I cut back on a lot of music once I actually stepped back and thought about what I was allowing into my mind /spirit. Rap is mainly negative derogatory or disrespectful garbage. Why would I want to purposely allow that in my life.

I can tell you know most of this is true. Basically private prison began poping up , Judges, DA, and some attorneys had stocks and interest tied up into the prisons. So rap was already getting gangster during this time, they just took advantage of the situation since they saw blacks going to prison and acting a fool while listing to rap

My perception of satanic elements may differ than yours but for me music has done more negative. Music brings about strong emotion no denying that, that's why it reaches out to people. It has an effect. To list a couple things about mainstream music I disagree with: Drugs, promiscuity, violence, crime, arrogance are evil acts in my book I can't speak for you. But for me those are things I try to avoid. Music gets stuck in my head extremely easily, I would rather spend my time thinking about something that is going to benefit me in a positive way. Yes there is positive music out there but like I said a majority of it is satanic.
