GRADUATE STUDENTS OF NT

Cool 757 locality isnt as bad as I thought, I was looking at a PAQ position at Langley. Oh okay makes sense now , because theres no way to start that high without experience and that GS 7 salary isnt pretty unless you are on the engineering scale (puts you at the salary 2 grades up).

Okay I didnt know that. Also, this side of VA is boring lol I wouldnt take that Langley position if you bore easily. But, yeah out here with no experience and just a Bachelor's you could get a GS-9 which is 48k. Spend a year or two there and boom youre ready for an 11.

I'd advise against university of Phoenix

Hey bro why not? Any insight you have please let me know. I was kind of iffy about it but my homeboy his from there and figured if he could do it I know i could lol.

you're talking about the online school right?

Maybe for a technical degree with ITT tech...

But for an MBA... People tens to scoff at those because we still haven't adjusted to the internet only school.

An online only degree from an established brick and mortar school looks more superior than UoP

They're a for profit... And I hear their graduation rates are low.

I'd say of your work is going to pay... Pick a regional power that has night + online classes ...

You get to see and feel the people around you... And there might be some resources at the school that you can take advantage of

While this was very funny and entertaining that didn't teach me anything. That's every school I remember nothing from my BS. Lol. But I understand what people saying, but I don't think it's not that bad. And 50k for student loans is nothing. Odu coming out is 60k in business. Lol

Thanks fellas, the reason I went MIS was to avoid those CS classes to be honest :lol no way I'm going through all those science and math courses. I'll look into the HCM and MIS double major though. But what I was asking was out of these 3 MIS, HCM or Finance which would be more marketable just with a BS or BBA?

Are they hr? Is it hard to believe dudes just weren't qualified or there were better candidates? No education (outside of the major ones) are a magic ticket. They are silly though for paying that much.

Let's get back to why I posted that. Responding to someone asking if anyone had any insight on the University of Phoenix.
If you know any hr rep that can chime in, that would be helpful as well. I've heard from numerous professors and classmates that online degrees are not taken too serious.

Nah thanks bro I appreciate the look out. I work in HR at the moment I'm the assistant HR manager while i only write pds, and do online posting right now, during my interview process I told them I was getting my degree from UoP they didn't say anything about it they actually advised me to get my Masters to hopefully move up in rank. I'm a civil service employee with DHS. So I don't know. But I do appreciate you looking out and at least giving some insight.

I'm by no means a grad school expert but as someone getting ready to start this fall I figured maybe i can be of help to someone.

Graduated in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Africana Studies (Black Studies) . Worked for the Government the past 3.5 years, and this fall I start at the University of Michigan in the Master of Urban Planning Program.

Im also considering applying for a dual degree in either a MPP ( Masters of public policy) or MBA.  In the thread to learn and share.

Aiming for Grambling University now for the Spring semester, all online program. I am just going to have to figure out those how to get those LORs

Been unemployed since June of last year :x :{. The examination board for becoming a Registered Nurse is whats stopping me. About to take the exam next week, prayers yall. :\ |I

Look into teach for america
Failed my first semester of cc. So unfocused , gonna try again next semesters

You have to either not really give a damn to the point where you do literally nothing or you need to rethink school as a whole. CC is easy, if you can't do CC then going to a full blown Univ is not even an option because you won't last even half a semester.

It is, I'm just not into it like I thought I would be. I'm gonna take a break next semester and get myself together

I didn't start off too well either. My first semester in college, I had 4 classes. I failed one and had to withdraw from another or I would have gotten two F's. I ended up graduating with a 3.92 GPA. It's early and there is still lots of hope, you can recover! Good luck!!

Just stick with it, fam. Do the work and don't worry about grades if you're in a CC. Most professors with a heart, will pass you with a C if they see asking for extra help, giving in each and every assignmen, doing somewhat decent on your exams and having an impeccable attendance. I know a few people who transferred over to other universities with a horrible GPA and they just strived in their school (some computer science majors, some engineering- 3.7+ GPA).

Just get the full info on the school you want to go to, whether they xfer your GPA or not.

Take the time off!

Do not stick with it if you aren't ready/mentally in it.

School will always be there, but once you dig a hole you'll have a terrible time climbing out.

GPAs are starting to be bs. Most people just drop the classes the didn't do well in. I didn't graduate with the best GPA but I never dropped a class and did well enough to get into grad school. For whatever reason, I'm proud of that. My little bro dropped a class and I have him an earful.

Lol the smart thing to do is drop classes you arent doing well in. Why would I take a D or F just to say I never dropped a class? That really hurts your GPA. So no retaking classes to get a better grade either?
