Nice. A lot of engineers go to b-school to switch careers or to get into a PM role from what I've noticed. I'm sure you'll get into an elite school.
I think anyone can with enough effort like I said before.

Wanted to add another data point regarding the GMAT. My first timed practice test, I scored a 540 :x . But I'm pretty good at standardized tests, and had the mindset that I'd be able to raise my score if I just grinded. I went hard (took a Manhattan GMAT class, studied 3 hrs per weekday, 4-5 each weekend day) for about 3-4 months, and ended up with a 730. This just shows you that the test is definitely learnable. The material doesn't go past a high school level, but what trips people up is the fact that they don't utilize smart test taking skills. My recommendation is come up with a detailed study schedule and just go full force-GMAT club is a great source for this, and also can be very inspirational.

What's crazy is my quant sucks.. Snd I have a masters in finance! Smh.
My study game wasntfierce doe...
I'm gonna get to 200 hours in the next two months snd retake in August...
3 per day... 5 on the weekend...
I feel if I can get to the 700s... Then I can apply for the H/S/W ... and be a shoe on for Darden, UCLA, and Berkeley...
I actually met wih a ton of the admissions officers from these schools this weekend...
I'm gonna get that 720, famb... Watch me work!!!

Gravedig...How is everyone doing? My time at Michigan is about 75% done and it has been a wonderful experience. Recently won a national case competition and I have my full-time employment all locked up for June. I think I am going to work for 2-3 years and then go back for my MBA through the consortium..I did Healthcare Admin (MHSA) btw. Whats good with everyone???

UMD is cool. Faculty are great, the funding is great, and the intramurals leagues are good competition. Can't ask for much more. Been here for 2.5 years and I'm still not used to the humid summers and cold winters though.And in reference to the MBA consortiums... "The Consortium" is an organization that works with a large group of top-tier business programs, aimed at increasing the representation of under-represented minorities in business. If you're accepted to The Consortium, I think they allow you to apply to like 10 MBA programs for free (or a nominal cost) and also offer free tuition. There might be other consortiums out there, but check out cgsm.org if you're interested.

Manhattan books are good for techniques but the practice exams are unnecessarily difficult and not realistic.

Appreciate it. I'm doing antibiotic drug design using natural products. We found a bacteria that makes an antibiotic to kill off competing bacteria. Works well even against MRSA.
