Some people suggested this already but it can't be said enough... keep your hair clean and healthy! Find out what products are best for you and don't let residue sit in your hair. I let my hair grow for 12 years and washed it pretty often and cut it this summer. I must say keeping my hair clean from flakes and residue was the only challenge.

Is there a product that will give you a natural curl without using a texturizer kit or any chemicals?

I've been using this. Doesn't dry your hair out like other gels and has good hold

Washing with Apple Cider Vinegar really gets a lot of that crap off of your scalp. Research it if you don't trust my word.
