Yeah like why was she so secretive about the baby? That part didnt make sense. I think she was going to have an abortion which is why the doctor kept calling her in and why she was trying to avoid it, and when the doctor said something like if you want to move along I will have to do something. So I dont think she cares too much about losing the baby as I think she already wanted it gone to begin with.
I think her secrecy about the baby is due to the fact their marriage was falling apart at that time. She could have been struggling on whether to keep it or not. I had a feeling she was pregnant, and thought she was getting an abortion. The sonogram looked like that fetus was at least two or three months. That is a long time to keep a secret like that from your spouse, only explanation is the uncertainty in the relationship. They summed up what Kevin is like when talking about the deer, he wants to save people/things. Just like he "saved" her and Tom.
I question if the baby is really Kevin's. I think back to when the pastor was unconscious and he fantasized about having sex with Laurie. Maybe that was guilt. In addition, why would Laurie be so snappy when asked whether the kid was Kevin's and why was she so reluctant to tell Kevin when he is a decent father from her point of view?
Any woman would be snappy at a question like that, it is very insulting especially if the person is being faithful. Don't forget, she is a therapist and in that community reputation is important. As far as Keving being a good father, her reluctance to tell him is much deeper than just that. Their marriage could have been going through some stuff. Look at how she spazzed because he didn't tell her about Tom's father. They were already on thin ice and that **** just cracked in a matter of minutes. Any other day Kevin wouldn't have slept with that chick, but that day after their little riff all bets were off.
I was thinking and still have been thinking what if the ppl didn't technically vanish? What if they just can't be seen like they're out of phase or something. I know the show won't go in to it at all so I'm not giving it a lot of thought but one scenario I came up with is while in this show 2% of the population disappeared there could be a flip side to it where that 2% that disappeared are experiencing a world where 98% of the population is gone
I'm thinking man made simply cuz those women in the car are obviously eventual GR members given how one approached Kevin about getting ready like he was a member in uniform a few hrs early before it went down.
Might not be man made, could be magic though.
Man made is way to difficult to explain, especially since Laurie's fetus disappeared. The rapture has been ruled out since bad was taken along with the good, and all the children are still around. The only other option would be aliens, or somebody is having a very vivid dream/hallucination
. As for those poeople in the car, they look like they escaped from somewhere and Kevin being dressed the way he was probably looked like he belonged to their crew.
I'm telling you man. They're all probably roommates in a mental ward together
and Kevin Sr. is the Leader
Could be, somebody should get a screen shot of them so we can look at their clothing.
Based on the episode it seems that the pastor wasn't nearly as devout pre-departure.
Very true, but that is what happens when people are faced with a tragedy. Either they get closer to GOD or they flee.
