It came down to the issue of position eligibility. That's how weak the center position was.

Seriously though, just keeping it to his own team (Dallas), how does he make it over Derek Harper and Rolando Blackman that year?  Was he even the FOURTH best player on that team?  Mark Aguirre, Sam Perkins, Harper, and Blackman say no.  Not to mention a young Detlef Schrempf on that squad, too.

Baffling.
