Good for the kids for learning a valuable skill.

Now go on strike until they pay you, no reason they should work for free. Especially in America where an ambulance ride is thousands of dollars.

The American Trucking Associations, a large industry trade group, supports the measure as a way to help with a shortage of drivers. The group estimates that the nation is running over 80,000 drivers short of the number it needs, as demand to move freight reaches historic highs.

You know they're about to hit the kids with the drive-to-own schemes.

Yep some drive to own lease bs that makes them independent contractors so they can rip them off for repairs, pay no benefits or ot.

I’m a truck driver, there is no driver shortage.

FWIW, this research was conducted prior to Omicron. I used to trust Dr Campbell until more recently when he has started promoting more controversial ideas like benefits of ivermectin and natural immunity. For example, he had a recent video where he was insinuating that now is a good time to get infected with Omicron as a natural booster. WTF?!
Yup, watched a few of Dr. Nurse Ret's videos early on and found his qualifications questionable.

His infatuation with vaccine aspiration and Ivermectin came after I stopped watching the show.

The study, that examined infections in New York and California last year, found that unvaccinated people with a past infection were a close second. By fall, when the more contagious delta variant had taken over but boosters weren’t yet widespread, that group had a lower case rate than vaccinated people who had no past infection.

“The bottom line message is that from symptomatic COVID infection you do generate some immunity,” said immunologist E. John Wherry of the University of Pennsylvania. “But it’s still much safer to get your immunity from vaccination than from infection.”

Vaccination has long been urged even after a prior case of COVID-19 because both kinds of protection eventually wane — and there are too many unknowns to rely only on a past infection, especially a long-ago one, added immunologist Ali Ellebedy at Washington University in St. Louis.

“There are so many variables you cannot control that you just cannot use it as a way to say, ‘Oh, I’m infected then I am protected,’” Ellebedy said.

Another thing to consider: The “staunchly unvaccinated” aren’t likely to get tested and the study only included lab-confirmed cases, Wherry said.

“It may be that we’re not picking up as many reinfections in the unvaccinated group,” he said.

CDC officials noted other limitations. The study was done before the omicron variant took over and before many Americans received booster doses, which have been shown to dramatically amplify protection by raising levels of virus-fighting antibodies. The analysis also did not include information on the severity of past infections, or address the risk of severe illness or death from COVID-19.

The study authors concluded vaccination “remains the safest strategy” to prevent infections and “all eligible persons should be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination.”

Good info

It's great news for those that are already in that category and recovered without lasting issues or having to be hospitalized.

That really is about the only message from that. It's definitely not a free ticket to say you should get infected because you'll be fine and then can't catch it again - because you can't guarantee either of those.

Wonder what doctor joseph rogan thinks about it. he's constantly saying kids shouldn't get vaccinated and that they handle getting covid better than vaccinated kids.

Free kits just came in the mail..I got 2 2-packs.

Anyone got 4 single packs? 8o

Any1 in here (from the USA, obviously) checked their local big chain pharmacies to see if they started giving out those free N95 masks from the US Govt stockpile in your area, yet?
Local CVS got a sign that says they will have them on the 28th

Something seriously wrong with these poeple

His “just following orders” quip was clearly what he thought was a subtle jab at them being Nazis.

It’s interesting though because I was listening to a podcast the other day about WW2 and they were discussing how zero army officers were ever prosecuted for not killing Jews/gypsies/kids etc. - sure their life could be made difficult but they didn’t actually court martial anyone or execute them. Even at their worst the Nazis knew it was an illegal order so if you didn’t do it they couldn’t do anything - that’s in stark contrast to those who defended their actions doing awful things saying that they had to do it.

He’s got it backwards anyway - their policy is reasonable and he thinks he’s being persecuted. He gets to make a choice - but it’s go to the library or not.

Man haven't been in this thread in a minute. Crazy it's still so polarizing with the vax/anit-vax. I get it, my body my choice, which is why I chose to not to illicit drugs my whole life, but not getting the vaccine to possibly stop getting COVID or lessening the symptoms just doesn't make sense to me. It's a respiratory disease and the lungs is just something you don't mess with. Once you lose part of your lung capacity you don't get it back. Period. Your lungs don't regenerate after you get over an illness like a pneumonia or bronchitis, which is something that can happen from getting COVID. My mom has a hereditary lung condition that gave her the lungs of a smoker having not smoked one cigarette in her life. All she can do now is get an infusion that stops the growth of the disease from getting any worse. She's never gonna get full recovered. From seeing that for the last 7 plus years I'm never refusing something that can possibly keep me in top shape. I wanna be able to exercise at full capacity for as long as possible.

Got two 2-packs as well. These are the same ones that were being given out free at libraries a few weeks ago.

My 78 year old uncle just got Covid. He has high blood pressure and a two time cancer survivor.

He is vaxed and boosted

My cousin said that his doctors were trying to track down Paxlovid for him.
They really should ask his GP about sotrovimab as well. It's worth a shot, with his comorbidities.
