Houston Rockets Thread - Preseason vs Spurs (Friday)

Yea, taken as just a singular player, Josh Smith is all the jokes you think, especially on teams like Detroit, LAL, Kings, Bucks, etc. But paired with Harden, Howard, and everybody else here, I'm down with Smith, especially for that salary

Acquiring Smith could allow us to move Jones or even D-Mo and the Pelicans pick to actually get something decent.

Dragon? Although I really do like Beverley a lot. He just always gives 110% out there, but if we could make that move, it would probably only make us stronger.

@WojYahooNBA: Houston Rockets coach Kevin McHale has agreed to a three-year contract extension, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Why God, why?

I just don't understand the timing of the McHale extension. No real reason to do it now as opposed to waiting.

If we make a play for Dragic

Front Office makes some questionable decisions. I aint too mad at the Josh Smith signing because it could mean bringing someone else in while dealing DMo or Jones.

NOW that McHale extension is straight up :x

Just out of curiosity I wonder where we would be right now with Bosh and Parsons. I feel like not getting Bosh worked out for the better.

In a lot of ways Morey's summer of disappointment was probably overstated.

Only thing I'm concerned about is how will D-Mo react to going back to the bench, I feel like he has come into his own these past few weeks.

The McHale thing though :{, he's been better this year though

Defense picked up like, but we're missing way too many shots regardless of the offensive boards. I dig Smith's passing and the fact that he doesn't think twice to attack the basket. Don't need 3's though :lol. Need Ariza's shooting to come back sometime, but I feel like I've been saying that for weeks now. Need more from the bench too.

they need to make a better effort to get dmo the ball on the block. dmo against smith is a better option than dwight on pau gasol. make them shift their defense. smith has been good so far. good defensive rotations, couple nice passes, attacking the rim.

What a game for Smith. People can chime in on the amount of shots he took, but he got some of Dwight's minutes like somebody mentioned cause of foul trouble, but people should just use their eyes and see what he did. Dude was attacking the basket like crazy, rebounding (including those 2 clutch ones near the end), and making some fantastic passes.

It sucks Dwight picks up cheap fouls that pretty much takes him out the game, need to fix that. I did find it funny that Dorsey started to frustrate Marc Gasol, who I also never knew was such a chump the way he plays.

Curious as to how the rotation works out these next few weeks, how everything sorts out, especially with the bench. I know Brewer and Terry will get extensive PT, D-Mo coming off the bench for Smith, but I also want to see how Shved, Canaan, and Johnson are used, if at all.

Josh Smith played pathetically in the 4th quarter against Memphis, almost costing them the game. Thank god they have Harden.

He played a good game..you are being over-critical and exaggerating. He made some mistakes but did a lot of good things late in the game.

Why should I not be over-critical on his mistakes that nearly costed the Rockets the game?

its fine to be, granted this was literally dude's first game. so he gets a little slack. but I'm going to be pissed if McHale, JB, Harden, Dwight don't taper his game to fit within the flow. 21 shots from him is really too much regardless.
