Well damn. You basically said how I feel about this show.agreed, my gripe with the show is that they are at this point(and since zoe popped up) wasting our time and with everyone's stories wrapped it's hard to watch. I mean we are literally waiting for ted to meet the mom...thats all thats left. the first 3-4 seasons were so tightly written and even when ted wasn't the focus it seemed to always be heading in the direction of him meeting his soul mate.
i know for a fact that lilly and marshall's storyline is wrapped, so for 24 episodes i have to watch them in stupid, forced scenes...probably about parenting. Barney and robin get married so they will be done and what sucks is that theyll probably waste half the season on just if they get married or not. and then theres ted....if he gets into another pointless relationship its going to be veeerrrrry stupid. and i can see that happening with all his friends now being married and well it's ted.
comparing this show to friends or even seinfield is irrelevant because himym is not on either of those shows levels to begin with. It's shows like friends.seinfield that have already had plan in motion on where they wanted their shows and characters to go, how i met your mom doesn't have that or it was poorly planned while they put out basically a filler season(zoe) trying to milk the show even more...for longer. Sure friends did that but it was definitely worth the wait...this doesn't feel like it's worth the wait. It's like when he meets the mom its GOTTA be played up to be everything and more. They either have to make it bitter sweet, get a HUGE star, and get that awesome writng i loved in the earlier seasons...they may need all 3 because i'm sure everyone watching the show expects them to create true love in a bottle with that scene...especially after they gave me a filler SEASON, the last show to do that was heroes.
Well damn. You basically said how I feel about this show.
Seasons 1-4 were GREAT, and from 5 on, it seemed like every so often there would be a gem, but there were way too many fillers.
Cuz Barney is awesome?how come it took barney to :52 seconds to tell a story where as ted tells it for 8 seasons....
highly doubt his kids are still on the couch listening to him
I honestly wouldn't be too upset with this.I bet they end it in a way where They dont even show the girl!!!!!
Yeah I need to know who the mother is, Big J hit it on the money. I'm not really a big fan of cliffhanger endings, and if they did it for this show, where the main premise of the show is for Ted to end up meeting the mother. The whole friends hanging out thing really works for this show and its created a ton of great story-lines, but if this section of the story is not resolved then I will be extremely disappointedIt does matter who the mother is, because the writers have repeatedly thrown teases into the story and nearly all of Ted's plots involve romance and finding "the one". If the show just flatout abandoned the premise and just had a regular "friends hanging out together" sitcom, I wouldn't be that upset. I like some of the mother mythology, but it's completely ruined so many of the plots for Ted because he finds some reason why she isn't the one.. and it's just the writers needing to string out this story.
To me, knowing who the mother is isn't important. Let's say they reveal who the mother is, then what?
The show isn't named "Guess who your mother is", it's "how I met your mother".
The story > the person.
Like someone else said, a major premise of the show is how the mother is the "one". I mean why would the writers have Ted go through all that stuff with Robin and Victoria not being the "one" and then just abandon that whole thing with the mother. Why is she the "one"? What sets her apart from Robin, Victoria and all Ted's other relationships? If we don't know who the mother is, we can't get the answer to this.
this show went downhill once Barney started loving girls.
i still watch it though. but def a drag.
