never used it before...

i would avoid using a valet at all costs. but if you must just tip $1 unless its some extravagant place and they did an amazing job for some reason.

also lock your stuff up good. if its not nailed down in your car they're stealing it.

I've had a pair of bball kicks stolen that were way used. they just don't care.

couple bucks... 2-3

5 is generous but not uncommon... i usually throw a 5 after im done using it for the day if its the same person getting the car... if theres a bunch of themthen its 2-3 a pop.

what exactly constitutes an "amazing job?" not wrecking your !!#%?

i assumed $5 would be straight.

Damn, I didn't realize they were that raw. I don't trust people to begin with, but this seals the deal. I mean, I'm sure they got adisclaimer that states they're not responsible for lost or stolen items.

1 dollar.

How much do you tip the guy who cleans your windshield when you don't want them too?

It depends if valet is free, I'd say $5 is appropriate. If I pay for it , then it depends on how fast they get my car

No, was like 5 years ago, and they dont all make "good money"

But i do know his past opinions on gratuities and i know exactly where this thread is headed, so im not gonna post in here anymore...

But from someone in the Hotel/Restaurant industry and also a person who travels and uses these services... $2-3 is a proper tip for a valet.

at people giving ALL valets a bad name... 99% of them wont touch the stuff in your car.
But its fair game in the trunk right?

One just stole 20 pairs from me in Chi-town

I hope he dies a slow death.

I've never been in the position to pay for valet but I would def give them atleast $5 as I am paying for a service.

I also try to avoid the valet because 1. my car needs to be angled in/out of driveways or else it will scrape so for damn sure they will scrape it and 2.I'm scare they will curb my wheels.

I've gone to places with valet service myself and just tell them to let me park it myself, and I still give them the $2-3.

one of my best friends is a valet...low hourly + tips....he works at a indian casino...usually people tip 5-10...if you want a good space near the front, soits easier to grab when you leave you can tip in the beginning too. i rarely valet though haha

depends where the valet is . like at a club usally they charge 10 then just throw em 5 . I dont really want to wait . but any where else its only 5 so i justdrop 2 or 3

i travel a lot .. so $2-3 is standard for the valet bringing you your car..

tippings always a touchy subject.. esp. on NT.. so honestly tip what you feel like is right/what you can afford.
