Good Evening NT. I was 15 when I joined NikeTalk on December 23, 1999, several days after it first launched. Man how time flies. As I close down my 20's and enter into my 30's (which everyone tells you is the best decade of your life, let's hope they are right) I figured I'd come back to a site/scene/industry that shaped most of my childhood.
A Few things I remember:
1. Jordans only releasing every season. Just a few colorways a year.
2. NikePark
3. Jersey Joe's Joint (jump.to/JJJ or something like that)
4. 23. Jumpman St.
5. ShoeTrends, the original ShoeTrends with Clip Art for a logo.
6. Original Foam One's sitting on the shelves of every shoe store for 50% off.
7. Alternate Sneakers and using Babble Fish to translate the site.
8. EKIN702
9. Kingson's Nike News Wrap Up
10. Phil's Nike Page
11. Getting up early and waiting in line for sneakers instead of a raffle.
12. 3-4 main forms of NikeTalk (Jordan, Nike, General)
I'm sure there are more memories, but old age is getting the best of me. Maybe some others from this era can chime in and help out.
